  1. I was looking for that option but I'm running the cameras I have through a Hikvision DS-7604NI-SE/P so I don't have that option. Unless there is a way to get into the settings bypassing the NVR. Unless there's a firmware update for the receiver. I can't change the angle of the camera because it's pretty much maxed out on the angle. The doorway is narrow and I had to mount it high enough where it wouldn't be vandalized.
  2. Hello Everyone, I just wanted to ask a question if anyone knows some possible solutions to a problem that I'm having. I just mounted 2 eyeball cameras and the front one is really dark and the IR is bouncing off the side of the house. If I turn up the brightness and contrast it fixes the problem until it's day and then it's all washed out. Here's what it looks like.
  3. Hmm... i viewed the view a couple of time and the best that I can come up with is a Nissan Maxima a couple years back. The reason why is the because of the angle of the headlight. Knowing that I like cars and all...lol

So far it seems like the Empire Cameras I might try and for a DVR there's a brand someone pm'd me I'm going to take a look at. Once I get the equipment in the next few weeks I'll post up what the final results are. Plus I can always upgrade later on as well.

Rory, what's the benefit of the bullet cam over the domes? I haven't really read anything between the two really.... other than the dome can prevent damage to the camera itself really.... Is there a benefit of one over the other if I don't expect vandalism in terms of quality of the image?

Hey Adam, I was looking at the specs and it looks nice but the price is almost the same as the QNAP VS2012. Can you tell me the benefits of the Samsung over the QNAP?

Yea I saw your post and I like it. How much light is actually out there? I have a street light in front of the house that hopefully would be enough for that camera. Also what was the cost of that camera?
  8. I am looking into get a security system for the home but I'm stuck on a few choices... what type of camera? Megapixel vs. Regular Analog? DVR? Standalong like the QNAP or get a plug-in card for a computer? I want to get up to 8 cameras but will start with 4 most likely. Budget around 800-1200 to start with a dvr or computer card, and maybe 2 cameras to see if I like the quality. I need to have good quality low light ability since I do not have flood lights around the house. I've read alot about CNB's Monalisa to KT&C Cameras. So I'm not sure which way to go. I know that Megapixel will cost more but I'm willing to build a quality system over time. Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.
