both prices are a give away. how can someone stay in business putting in over 3K worth of Bosch equipment for 3300? are they licensed and insured? that cost money too. 7 X 350 = 2450 plus the dvr plus a power supply plus cable and connectors somethings wrong

Has anyone had the chance to check out Netgear’s new Ready NAS surveillance system. It looks like a ready nas appliance that Netgear came out with software for ip cameras. Any input?

Drop Ceiling Camera Mounting
chaz replied to Liquid_Squelch's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
NEC - national electric code would require the cameras to be supported by the drop tile grid. reasoning is that the tiles could collapse if the tile gets wet or there is a fire which would allow the camera to fall from the ceiling and hit someone. -
Satisfactory CCTV System For My New Restaurant (Which One?)
chaz replied to Filiatrinos's topic in General Digital Discussion
I have to agree. $800-$1000 per camera for a professional installation should be the norm. by all means buy your cameras from ebay or costco, drape the wires around the place, learn how to make bnc or cat 5 connectors and hope it works. I know how to solder pipes but i don't do plumbing because i don't want to take a chance on a leak. If you want a quality installation and final product call a pro. -
dyndns---two camera's on one account?
chaz replied to quick_pick's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The dyndns is just to find the router. after that just use the different ports that you have set up in the router to access each camera individually. http:// mycameras.dyndns.com:8000 http://mycameras.dyndns.com:8001 etc....... -

Difficult time connecting Vflex remotely.
chaz replied to ekonagel's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Are you using digital watchdog's ddns service? if not, has the ip address changed since you checked to see if the port was open? -
an update from my previous post -----just got an Iphone and while browsing the app store guess what i found-- a bosch app for the 600 series. the app has a demo site on it that you can connect to. judging from the time differences from EST i am guessing germany. i haven't been able to connect to any of the 600 series we have installed yet but i think its a port issue that i need to resolve. i'll post again if i do get it working.

The facial recognition from 3VR works well if you set up the cameras per 3Vr spec's for height and distance. a fleeting glance at the camera is sometimes all you need to capture the face. Directional motion is enabled on a per camera basis if i'm not mistaken. I've put about 40 3VR's in banks (good lighting) don't know how they will work in a night club though. transaction events work well with 3Vr and if they see a market for it i'm sure they will write an analytic for your specific POS. good luck with your project.

GPS Tracking of Vehicle. Can it be done on a low scale?
chaz replied to Fiona's topic in General Digital Discussion
we use u-traq from uplink. small unit just plugs into the obd plug under the dash where they plug the computer in to do diagnostics on vehicle. -

ICrealtime Max series dvr not working with IP CAM lite

"Have you contacted IC Realtime technical support? They're pretty good with their response" let us know how you make out with tech support. the first time i called it took 24 hours exactly for them to call me back. the second time left a message and waited 30 minutes before i called the sales dept. and asked if they even had someone in tech support. i will say, sales did transfer me to support and they did take care of my problem but waiting on tech support line to call back is a money loser. PS. won't be calling a third time -
If you want to use your IPhone chose a different manufacturer than Bosch. To this day they still don't support IPhone with any of their dvr's. Don't you know IPhones are just a fad? Why change the same software platforms you have been using for years just for a passing fad?

ATW makes a very good and inexpensive indoor camera mount. just saw one on Amazon listed for $5.00. they come in off white and black. try atwbrand.com it might be a good website for them.

Not to be a wise ass, but if i knew who you were i might give some insight into how we protect atm's with video. I know its an open forum but certain things should stay amongst people in the business.

Why put them in an enclosure when you can just use a simple mount? mounts are only about $15.00

What format does it save it in? just look to see what the file extension is and let us know. -
There is no iphone app for the 600 series or any other Bosch that i know about. the Iphone looks good for the brochures but Bosch is way behind the times when it comes to remote access on any phone. even with blackberry it uses rtsp ports and will only give one live picture at a time and has to log in separately to each camera. no play back. I've put in the 600 series and had customers complain about the video output both on the dvr and remotely and had to put in a different brand of dvr

It was a pretty poor showing of vendors at ISC this year. alot of the big players weren't there.

try looking at meir products. this looks like your description already built with temp control http://www.mierproducts.com/outdoor_temperature-controlled_enclosures.html

have you given the dvr the static address of 10.1.3.216? if so, give the computer a static address of 10.1.3.215 and using a ]crossover cable you should be able to connect. try to ping the dvr to check the settings and crossover cable

No grid on motion detection setup thru web
chaz replied to andrecctv's topic in Computers/Networking
it could be either problem - windows 7 or ie9, i've seen both. try running the program (IE) as an administrator or down grade to IE8. more than one program that we use has had problems with windows 7 and i know of at least one dvr that won't work with IE9 unless you apply a patch to the active x -
haven't seen or heard from my bosch rep in who knows how long. they must be selling a lot of product or you would think that they would call on their dealers. ADI sells bosch cameras maybe they can supply a price. i like the product but they are so out of touch with things like iphone connection to their dvr's that its rediculous.

rasplus is used by several dvr makes and models. all of which i ASSUME are made by the same manufacturer and then rebranded. if you are supplying new dvr's you will probably have to use the software specific to the new brands you are putting in.

look at the speco instensifier cameras. you will get full color at night with as much light as you have. the videos they have at specotech.com will show you the differences between ir and intensifier pictures
