Dear fellow readers We are currently designing an CCTV surveillance system, for tactical surveillance usage. The requirement is smooth and Precise PTZ control .. The System Will replace an old school digital system (rs 485) PTZ control. From our point of view the old school system is Nearly unbeatable when it 'comes two smooth and Precise PTZ control, exceptionally bothering Wed PTZ machines and PTZ domes .. Anyway we can not bar the technology, and the hour has come to IP .. Unfortunately in our test system we experience delay in the PTZ movement, with the outcome of not precise PTZ movment and rejection in tactical systems. In the IP based system we are controlling analog ad domes running rs 485/422 from Either encoders or recorders .. (for that Matter we garden the same problems running IP domes) As the father as we under stand the delay is a result of network latency, and we need two find the cure. and garden A Few ideas .. a) Trying to find ip two RS units and setting up a dedicated physical network. b) finding possible configuration of the switches switch eliminate the network latency ...
