mobile port setup and checked still no connection on iphone will update when android test is run

i didnt realize the phone uses a specific port i thought that having a media and web port forwarded for the dvr was all that was required any idea what the required port for iphone would be? android port would be good too if you know it because it seems that safari browser blocks any ports that arent already in use or blocked by isp ill check into it thanks for the reply

tried port 100 on iphone same deal fail had my father download asee for android and try to connect remotely he connected but then got no response message port 80 is usually blocked by isp so i definately wouldnt suggest using it iphone uses safari which also blocks ports and from what i can tell that cannot be changed ill focus on getting the droid to work and plan on upgrading from iphone im bored with it even though its jailbroken -

ill be honest im having a bit of trouble understanding you it sounds like your looking for a web host??? have you looked into dyndns.org? if you go all the way to the bottom of the home page you can sign up free for basic services hope this helps -
how are you accessing the recorded videos? do you have the same problem with live feed?

hook the camera up and try it before you mount it anywhere there are alot of different factors that can come into play reflections/shadows signal issues due to contruction materials or electrical wiring lines may not be long enough cameras field of view may not cover the area you want its alot easier to hold it up where you want it or just prop it up and check the feed than it is to mount it and run all the wires and find its not gonna work

hey mike any idea why i cant connect to my dvr via iphone? i can connect locally and remotely via laptop with no issue ive downloaded the suggested app for iphone but cannot connect at all i get connection failed and connection disconnected messages thanks

pull up your browser and enter your router ip enter user name and password you need to go into the port forwarding rules in your router and set them up to the ports you need go into your firewall setings and forward the ports they should match the ports you have entered into your dvr avoid ports 80 and 25 they are most likely blocked by your isp come back and report your progress for more help listing some more info might help dvr type and router type etc.

im having similar issues with iphone looking at your post though it looks like youre running two different firmwares if one dvr connects and the other doesnt the firmware may be the issue id try switching the firmare so its the same as the working model
-
i dont think turning the dvr off by either mothed will cause problems but i am unfamiliar with the model it sounds like your issue with losing connection is because of your isp ip if dyndns isnt working for you it may be worth while to see what the cost of a static ip from your isp would be

you will likely have a heck of a time getting a connection via iphone i cant most dvrs run on activex controls and only work with interent explorer you may want to look into dyndns.org as far as iphone goes my dvr was supposed to work with it and i have tried every single app out there with no success others have had succes though so it may be dependant on the dvr itself purchase from a rputable company

PLZ HELP ME SET UP A SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM?
tomahawk replied to ipostnak3d's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
i think youre overcomplicating things for yourself you can get a dvr based system with remote viewing etc snake all the wires through the walls and hide or lock up the dvr a standalone dvr should work fine for you use power strips with surge protectors just as a side note in an area of high crime like that being the only place on the street with visible security cameras would be a very bad idea it would draw attention -
im no expert but people are going to need more info to help you what are you trying to do? what kind of dvr? do you have any port forwarding experience?

love linux but 90% of dvrs seem to run on activex controls which are entirely windows based and generally only seem to work with ie im new to the forums so feel free to take this with a grain of salt

i would try installing the driver again and check the firewall settings etc on both computers to make sure they are the same i dont use windows 7 though so im just guessing its likely a windows related issue lol
