  1. hi. images and converted footage sent. if you have problems let me know. Tom, If this is the UK the OP will need the video stream if the incident direct from the recording as well for original evidence. Although the image you have grabbed will be great for detection, the stream is the admissible bit that the Police will need to 'seize' (under PACE) as evidence. Regards Ilkie
  2. We were installing CCTV System (analogue camera with zoom lens pointing up like a periscope) CCTV system like this some 10 - 15 years ago. It was an offshoot from military technolgy where they used the system to film bullets and tank shells in flight. It was easier to move the mirror at speed than move the whole camera assembly. Needed to have some faily advanced software with high end computers (at the time) to resolve the images into a continous 360 deg strip I think it was called Spyhawk. Ilkie

  4. Start with Tavcom's CCTV over IP course. This can be taken as a BTEC award. All my engineers have taken it and it gives the basis of networking and IP CCTV design. The details can be seen online Ilkie
  5. The cable could also be URM70, still 75ohm but very slightly smaller than standard RG59 and with a stranded centre core. With quality cable it delivers around 3dB/100m loss at 5MHz Ilkie

    Coax lightning protection

Technically at both ends bonded with decent cables to proven earth points. If you only have one, it would be best at the DVR end just after the cable enters the building. Ilkie

    Good Hidden Cameras

There is a version of the door viewer camera that has the DVR built into the camera which sits at the back of the door. Being battery powered = no wires. Ilkie
