Hi Everyone, Will a PTZ Camera still "autoscan" if the rs-485 (i think thats correct) terminals are not connected? Thanks

Anyone know where i can get them from? THanks

I have only used the cheapy cheapy Chinese dvrs and dont have a problem with them.......yet..they all seem to work pretty well. Reason i have specified icatch is because of the software. I put on a post about the iview system before but noone seems to have heard of them before. Then i found out the software for the 2 are identical (probably the same exact dvr with a name change). But i find the software is soooo much more user friendly than the other ones ive used especially for my non techie clients. Even for me to retrieve recordings remotely is sooooo much easier and straightforward with the iview/icatch systems. Thats the only reason for my preference

Hi Everyone, I have an installation where one of the cameras is about 300ft cable distance from the DVR. I plan on running cat5 and baluns. Only problem is that i see according to a voltage drop calculater using 3 twisted pairs i still see a significant drop in the voltage. And gettin power from somewhere else along the cable run will be somewhat impossible. Will a regulated power supply solve my problem? Or do they just keep the voltage at 12vDC as opposed to cranking it up to say 13-13.5 to compensate for voltage loss? Thanks for any help

k..thanks

Thanks alot. Thought of something else. Cant i just run another dedicated power cable with a higher gauge? Where im from its not easy to get ahold of these kinda things and if i can are usually fairly expensive. Think the extra power cable can work instead? Thanks for ur knowledge and help!

Hi Guys, Im looking for a good wireless non ip camera system. Are there any such systems out there? Thanks
-
yup..contacted them already. Was just wondering if there was anyone else on this forum. Thanks
-
Thanks..will give it a look

Hi Guys, I see these type of baluns on ebay for alot less than the "regular" ones. Any particular reason they are so much cheaper?
-
Ok thanks, They say they do work but im a firm believer of if something is too good to be true it usually is so ill leave them right where they are. Thanks
-
So they dont work like regular baluns then? For video i mean

That was my thought as well...

Hi, Basically i have a client that operates a small hotel/guesthouse requesting a system that turns off the a/c (im from Barbados so you know a/c is a MUST at all times) when the guests leave the room. The two main systems that i can see are the card system (which integrates itself with the door lock system but i dont think my client may not have the budget for such a system) or the occupancy sensor which seems like the cheapest way to go. My problem is that i dont want the system to turn off the a/c while the guests are sleeping! Any way i can get around this? Thanks

worked like a dream! thanks a million!

Hi Guys, Having some trouble setting up my Nubix 8LT dvr for remote viewing. I have set it up correctly with the port forwarding and what not (i have set up other dvrs already without any problem but this is first time with this type of dvr). I can view it locally with no problem but i cannot get it done remotely. Does this dvr support remote viewing? What makes me think this is that in the ip settings for the dvr there is no option for a port number. Only ip,subnet and gateway. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Baje

ok. so i leave the port forward info and just add the dvr ip to the dmz?

will try and let ya know thanks
