ActiveX is bad, but the streaming and video quality of both products is good. The bluenet video server has the best M-JPEG compression i've met by now.

Can Geovision starts as service?
loop replied to recycle_bean's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You might be right Thomas, but as far as I understood, recycle_bean requires the logon system to stay intact, so unless geovision has this feature, I can't think of any better solution. -

loop replied to recycle_bean's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
you can use a 3rd party software like: http://www.activeplus.com/us/products/smill/ but I think I remember geovision's software having this feature. better wait for dvr_expert to reply. -
oops, thought you're talking about computer monitors...

IcanTek sells one with poe, but I'm not sure that it's cheaper than axis: http://www.icantek.com/product/camera/index.php It should cost around 400$ dealer's price with poe. As far as I understand you can run a seperate poe solution for any networked device, so you might be able to feed any ip camera, but I'm not sure.

If you want the same display on both monitors you can use a video splitter. This one is good: http://www.aten-usa.com/main.php?loc=products&Item_ID=372 ~50$ Make sure you use good quality cable if you decide to use it.

I have a good and cheap solution for you, unless you're locked on the stardot cam: There's a small 4 channel video server (will display only one channel at a time), that provides a great image, is very easy to install, very easy to implement into your web page and it costs only ~100$. It uses an ActiveX component to display the video, but it is signed so with regular settings and the latest firmware, the plugin will be silently installed (not absolutely sure, but you can check it by trying to view the demo). A Big advantage in a video server is that You can connect any standard CCTV camera to it. You can see a sample here: http://www.tlcstream.com/Sample.htm User: guest, Pass: guest The manufacturer is Aviosys (Taiwan): http://www.aviosys.com/p_multimedia%20link9100.htm TLC Stream is distributing it under their own brand name, with a modified web based user interface, but it's the same product. You can read on how to implement the video into your web page in the last paragraph here: http://www.tlcstream.com/21232.html Good luck. Thomas: very nice streaming for your product. very good quality for less than 10K per frame. What kind of compression is it? pixelization doesn't look like the kind mpeg4 forms.

TV-Out Graphics cards
loop replied to antdickens's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The quality much depends on the TV chip that the graphics card uses. Cards with Conexant CX25871 TV chip, will give the best quality on a TV. But no matter what you'll use, the image quality will be always worst than on your pc monitor. -
I have a few systems running for few months already, built uppon a magic radar cards (uses HINT cpontroller) with nforce2 boards. Surprisingly, boards with KT400 also works well with these cards, but KT600/800 doesn't.

Check these out: http://www.linudix.com http://www.flexwatch.com/products/fw_ncs.asp http://www.webgateinc.com/wg_htdocs/english/products/webeye_intro.html I've recently done a small research about all existing IP cameras/servers for my first large scale project that is monitoring 70 seperate remote IP cameras from a central location. I was mostly looking for a good cheap product that is bundled with software. All the information here is only based on my impression from the products, based on their specs/features, demos, and bundled software testing. I intend to order samples next week if I finally get this project. Then I can post some more concrete info. Linudix products looks very well built, are cheap, and their bundled software is very cheap and gives good impression. It supports the monitoring of a few groups of up to 16 cameras each. For my project, this seems to be the best solution for now. Check out their video servers as well. I will use a 2 ch video server with one CCTV camera as the best cost effective solution. The company's strong side is the server. They specialize in embedded linux solutions. Flexwatch's products are more expensive, and the software isn't cheap too. The FW-50/100A cameras are discontinued, and there's a new 2 ch video server, FW-3210, that is not yet listed on their site. WebGate has a great software. Products aren't cheap, but bundled software is. Some more to check: http://www.pixord.com http://www.vivotek.com

Need a new product
loop replied to cctv_down_under's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
For neosyst demo, click on the image says "DVR 1". A web-based GUI pops up, but it doesn't show any video for me. I've tested this card at my lab. Safeland doesn't have a demo on their site. You can contact both of them, I'm sure they can provide a demo site. -
Which IP Cameras/Server brands you had experience with?

Need a new product
loop replied to cctv_down_under's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Neosyst's cards are very good. Wide range of products and good prices on volume purchases. http://www.neosyst.com/eng/index.asp I think safeland has a good product although I haven't tested it, but downloaded their software and it has a great GUI and is easy to use. A nice advantage is that it takes control over your desktop with it's own desktop GUI, limitting user's access to the windows system. They also seems strong on the networking side, providing applications for remote controling and monitoring multiple stations. http://www.safeland.co.kr/eng/main/index.htm -
Centralized IP Camera Monitoring
loop replied to loop's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Do you have a price list for the Vitek? There's not much information on their site. I know it's in a different league, but what do you think about this low cost miniature 4-port video server: http://www.aviosys.com/p_multimedia%20link9100.htm It supports up to 16 cameras from different locations in a web-based application. There's a demo here: http://61.59.37.157/ The price is just a little more than a 100$. -

Centralized IP Camera Monitoring
loop replied to loop's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
forgot to mention that I need an option for future upgrade (2 cameras per site), so I need a 2 camera server or an IP camera with an input for another standard camera. Which good product with control room software do you recommend? -
The simplest way is to go with 3 letters like "IVS".

Question about what you guys want.
loop replied to Thomas's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
the only need I can think of is watching a few remote locations, where atleast one of them requires only one camera instead of a whole dvr system. so I assume there's no great need for this. what I would like is good ip cameras that can be all chained to one ip and be seen all together from one application. -
Does anyone have experience with their cameras? http://www.jsp-cn.com The prices are very good.
