It's the same unit as Q-SEE QSD6204 just with different case. MPEG4, Vineyard based, made in China.
-
Can anyone identify the product. Here are a few screen shots:
-
It's a hardware issue (faulty regulator) caused by overheating. You should the system's supplier for repair.
-
Fans are not the problem, it's the air-flow which makes the noise, while the metal case acts as a sounding board. You can do some modifications to reduce the noise, but it'll still be quite noisy. Most makers doesn't concern noise when designing the DVR.

Well featured, very stable and reliable.

http://www.fuho.com.tw/PRODUCT/DVR/new-dvr.htm Rory, those Vineyard based dvr's motion detection based recording is not reliable, so make sure you only set them to costant recording.

Just recently started to use Seagate for our standalone systems. I have 4 bad (out of the box) SV35.2 250GB out of 40. Might be a defected lot. I also believe there are not much difference these days.

4 Channel DVR, Archive to NAS (Network Attached Storage)
loop replied to JC7727's topic in Digital Video Recorders
NAS advantage is not about recording the footage through an internet connection, but a good way to keep your storage safe or hidden, and having additional local backup. In my opinion it is also a great way to integrate IP cameras with dvr's, as they can both push their footage to the NAS device, and then be able to playback all on the dvr or remote client. Recording a stream of proprietry dvr video format on a PC is not as simple as recording streaming Windows media/Real/QuickTime foramts, and with those porn movies you sure got more motivation for doing it... -

Geovision should support NAS. You'll have to wait a few months for a decent standalone system with NAS support. Asian manufacturers just recently began implementing this to their newly released models. -
Anyone knows a company who writes DVR software that supports POS, and are using Comart cards as the hardware platform?
-
Thanks, but we are looking to use our hardware.

You can try an newer driver / software: http://www.q-see.com/images/Driver/updated%20superdvrdriver.htm -
Disconnect the power, open the case, remove the battery and look for a jumper that resets the system's BIOS (usually next to the battery, and jumber is probably smaller): If there are only 2 pins under the jumper, just remove it for a second and put it back. If there are 3 pins, change the jumper to shorten the other 2, and then place it back. Your system should initialize itself to factory settings, and you can use the initial password. Good luck.

Thanks Rory, according to their website they do support POS, and I have contacted Thomas.
-
Actually, I'm trying to help a friend who supplied some Comart systems for his client, while Comart promissed to support their POS systems in the future, but did not stand for their promise. So I'm looking to buy software from one of their 3rd party partners, as I know that there are a few dvr software companies using Comart for their platform, as their hardware and SDK are of good quality.

If this is the GUI you're talking about then the ugly IE GUI is a replication of the client, while some buttons are non-functional. As far as I can remember (tested it more than a year ago), some of the limitations are: - Client's resolution is fixed to 800X600 - No frame-by-frame playback or no reverse playback Nevertheless, the system is stable and reliable, compression/image quality ratio is good, VGA quality is good and system UI is convinient. So unless you are sensitive to graphical design, I would wormly recommend this unit. Actually this is the best selling 4ch MPEG4 based Korean standalone dvr.
-
It's a stable and reliable system with good compression, performance and features. Only down side are the IE based viewer and client application, which are both limited and quite poorly designed.
-
Stable system from a good company. VGA quality is good and there is maintainance access for system self test and firmware upgrade. Check this old post for its' down sides: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=4763
