Icantek vs. Brans (3R) 4CH video server
loop posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Features seems to be alike, and online demos provide similar compression and transfer rates using mpeg4 codec. One important difference i've noticed, is that the Icantek does a better job with distribution of bandwidth between the 4 channels when viewed in quad mode, and using narrow bandwidth (96Kbit UP). Can anyone recommend one of those, or anything better at this price range (for distribution)? http://www.brans.co.kr http://www.icantek.com -

if you can't see it on the dvr, you probably won't be able to see it when connected to a computer either.

the correct version for your 2.3.0.0 firmware is version 2.0. you probably have different problem. Try connecting the dvr to a pc with a cross-over cable, or a simple hub and check if it works for you this way first.

Very good system. Easy to configure, stable and well designed. Drawbacks are: - Motion detection based recording can only be set to record all active channels, even though motion occur on one channel only. - Slow network transmission (MJPEG Compression). - Noisy fan (a problem of many embedded dvr's).

NVdv4-16900 MP4 technology vs the remote view difficulty

You can always measure the bandwidth of an online demo in order to get an idea about the dvr's network performance. www.netlimiter.com -

A good embedded system connected to a cctv monitor will yield a much better image than any pc-based. If you'd like to take a snapshot, its' quality will usually be same or worst than pc-based, depending on type of compression used and its' implementation. Mpeg2 and maybe jpeg2000 encodings provides the best image quality, but both are not great for network transmission, because of the large data size per encoded frame. -
I would like to directly extract a JPEG image from the BlueNet video server. Something like: http://camera_ip_address/image.jpg I've gone through the CGI control commands, but couldn't find a direct call to the JPEG file, instead there is a command that looks like: http://camera_ip_address/cgi-bin/image.cgi?control=0 which displays the image in the web browser. I would appriciate any help.

You can use a tray icon hiding software in order to hide any running application. http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:Ci2Nlrt__84J:www.pukyware.com/+koperfield+junior+download&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3 I have a copy of it, and can't find a working link to it on the web, so if you like it, email me and I'll send it your way. -
PC based DVR system slow-down/froze problem.
loop replied to toughman's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Is capture.exe using 100% of the cpu power? It might be that some OS files that are used by the dvr application were replaced or damaged. I would reinstall the OS as an easy solution. -

yes, I did. try reinstalling the application. -

you're using the default ports. change the port sttings into 90 and 1100 (or any other unused ports). I believe the reason for your problem is that capture.exe is getting exhausted by an outside attack through the default port (9091). You can try diconnecting the dvr from the network, and see that it's working properly after restarting your dvr application. -

toughman, which port in the dvr application is set for the remote client connection? Are you using a firewall? which one? how is it configured for the dvr server application? I know my questions sounds a bit irrelevant, but I think I know your problem, and will explain after you reply. -
Does anyone knows if there's any physical difference between the two boards? TIA

Enable (mark the check boxes) for all of the cameras for the user "Anonymous" under user settings. -
It's probably caused by using the motion triggered recording feature, which is not perfect on any vineyard based system.

Does anyone have exprience with it?
