Excellent image quality, but very slow networking, means large file size, similar to MJPEG. Uses non-convenient textual user interface similar to vineyard based dvr's. There are better alternatives these days.
-
Has anyone tested this Jpeg2000 based dvr? Any comments?

360x288 15fps in 720x240.

you don't need windows to "see" your hdd. If it is detected as USB large storage device, this is fine, and the software should be able to read the data from the hdd. There are some issues with this type of connection, so try other usb ports, or maybe another computer. Make sure you install the software before you connect the USB cable.
-
If you're using a USB cable to connect the HDD to the pc, try to install the drive directly.

I'm looking for a ip based video conferencing solution similar to the SONY PCS-1, but with a better price tag. http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/markets/10010/keyproduct_PCS-1.shtml Application is remote patient treatment, so video must be encrypted for privacy. Otherwise I would use a good ptz ip camera. A PC based solution is also possible if anyone has any idea. Thanks.

Thanks scott, I think it's priced on the same level as the Sony, isn't it?

Excellent product, rock solid and well designed. Would have been great if it was using some better compression.

Does anyone has experience with these cards? I'm trying to guess if their that bad, or is it just me... http://www.cqone.com

same as I have. Budget system or not, basic features must work as advertised. Sent you an email Scott.

I believe it's too early to draw conclusions. What version have you got there? Try to connect another camera and set both to motion triggered recording, and let us know if it works well.

Icantek vs. Brans (3R) 4CH video server

Thanks Scott, actually it's a year old post. I'm still left with some pieces in stock. good product, but not that cost effective with todays' embedded dvr's. It's quite too complicated to configure (especially the 440R model), and lacks the right settings for our low bandwidth dsl lines. Other than that a great product, and thank you for your reply and offer. BTW, I've emailed you about some other issue, but yet to get a reply. -
probably best is to go with a video server from the same brand as your ptz camera: http://www.panasonic.com/business/security/network.asp Axis supports some Panasonic models as well: http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/ptz/index.htm

Thanks, but it's not the case. Probably my router or ISP is blocking some relevant ports.

"The page cannot be displayed" though pinging 70.128.53.6 works. might be something with my ISP and his route to your host.

It doesn't work.

Anykeeper 2016 card - 4 Remote IE, What S/W are required?
loop replied to sphyer's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
without the router there is no problem. just put the dvr ip in IE, install the activex, and that's it. If you're using XP SP2, reset security level to low as first step. Reset security level back to medium after activex is installed. -

From my expirience, AnyKeeper IE viewer does not work thorugh a router. The only way to make it work is through the remote client, or through IE when the dvr is connected directly to an adsl modem. The reason is that the port used for connecting to to the dvr is not static. It doesn't work even if you set the dvr ip to a DMZ or virtual server.
