Bix is a proprietary format on Kodicom DVRs. There are no converters I could find that support such a file type. You could playback the file and use a video or screen capture to save it to a different format and then edit the captured image file. You'll lose some resolution, but it should work. That is if you have software to play back on the computer in the first place, or else you'll have to load it onto the dvr if it's pc based.

pelco housings and electrical safety
MisterNetwork replied to kensplace's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Truth is... that is exactly the way they were made. Housings from Pelco & Vicon were all made that way in the 1980s. Pelco's were all metal, Vicon had fiberglass and metal with aluminum sun-shields, but the heaters were crude, and the connections not very installer friendly or safe by todays standards and everything was usually 110 or 24vac. -
Not enough info to diagnose. Are you using a static IP or dynamic, are you using a DNS service, is there a router attached, is the server locking up or just off line, what IP ports are used for connect, and who is the mfr of the dvr? It could also be getting corrupted from the client software or IE interface.

Hi Folks, I'm Bob or more often called Dawgs or Bobby Dawgs since I always have my faithful and loving dog Shisha with me. (You can find out more about her at http://Shisha.MisterNetwork.com) I've finally gotten organized online and a bit more Forum-Savvy (I hope), but I can certainly say I am network & CCTV savvy! I started with computers in high school back in 1979, I then began installing & servicing burglar alarms upon graduation, got a degree in Computer Science in 1983 and went to work as a tech for the largest private security CCTV company in the New York-New Jersey area (Custom Video Systems, Inc.), then went on to computer programming for a big insurance company, back to alarms up to operations management with as many as 9 offices, then to CCTV, and finally now full-circle back to computers and networking again as http://MisterNetwork.com I'm located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and specialize in networking of surveillance video systems, and act as a contractor for several CCTV installation companies as their field IT technician, doing both networking and configuration, and in some cases the final demonstration of the completed system for the customer/end-user. I also have several other businesses including CCTV products, web-site design & hosting, professional voice-overs, voicemail recording & on-hold messages, as detailed on the Links page on my website. I can be reach via e-mail at Bob@MisterNetwork.com Call me before you call Bellsouth!! [/b]

LinkSys WRT54G Router Setup - Can't Access Internet - Flakey
MisterNetwork replied to Jasper's topic in Computers/Networking
Be sure the modem is set to "Bridged", check you have "keep alive" selected, and be sure you have the latest firmware. Linksys has had many firmware upgrades on the wireless series. As for Linksys - it's all I ever use! Bob MisterNetwork@bellsouth.net uncommonsenseconsulting.net
