Dahau dvr build date 2011 or older email stopped working..
pilotg2 replied to topchips's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi there Just came across your thread. I have exactly the same problem, 2011's not sending emails and 2012 working fine. The bugger not working is a DH-DVR1604LE-AS which is failing to send emails. My current version is 2.608.0000.0 build:2011-9-28 You don't by any chance still have that firmware update knocking about? Thanks -
Knocking sound when viewing Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-IW
pilotg2 posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, does anyone have any idea what could be causing this knocking sound when viewing the camera and playback? The cam is running firmware 5.1 and i just noticed i cannot successfully format the memory card. I'm going to update the firmware and buy a new card in a day or two. Could it be interference from an electrical source? Quick sample of the sound - https://vid.me/qBKv -
Knocking sound when viewing Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-IW

I'm hoping to do further testing this weekend and update firmware - it's an English cam bought from a UK distributor so all good on the firmware front. I did notice adjusting the mic volume increases and decreases the volume of the noise (yes i'm pulling at straws here) yet the room the camera is in, is dead silent. -
Hello I'm setting up a Hikvision ds-2cd2432f-iw IP Camera powered by a TP-Link POE injector. The injector has 48v. I'd like to be able to remotely (with a control) turn the cam on and off when i'm in the room. For the experts out there would the following work? Add one of these between the POE wall plug and round connector that plugs into the POE - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-Channel-AC-DC-12V-RF-Wireless-Remote-Control-Switch-Receiver-Transmitter-1-CH-/171247862697?pt=UK_Gadgets&var=&hash=item27df2b03a9 OR this one as i'm not sure about the voltage? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-Channel-AC-220-240V-DC-Wireless-Remote-Control-Switch-Receiver-Transmitter-1CH-/171188670543?pt=UK_Gadgets&var=&hash=item27dba3d04f I've ruled out the simple remote wall plug sockets as it seems, having contacted most of the manufactures, they do not resume power if the main power trips. There default power sate if off! This is no good for me as i'm away from home for long periods.

Hi Does anyone have an idea what would cause cams to suddenly all look like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7O6gjD1ElM&feature=youtu.be - sort of like lines scrolling to the left. DVR is a Dahua (DH-DVR0804LE-AS) 8 channels, all 6 cams on D1 res. One cam had this very slightly for about a year but now all the cams have the problem and it's far worse. I've no idea what it is or what could be causing it? Nothing onsite has changed. Any views appreciated.

Sudden bad picture quality across all cams

Thanks for the replies guys. Been looking up ground loop and this could well be the problem. Is this in anyway a fire hazard? -
Hi, i'm having trouble logging into a Apollo HD 4 Channel 1TB H.264 and wondered if any of you guys knew where the problem may lie. I'm logging in via the web. The Webservice on the page loads so i've 'connected' to the DVR, but the login screen fails to loads. It just sits on a blank screen. Nor am i able to access the camera on my iPad via idmss. Both of the above methods usually work perfectly and i've had no problems logging in for the last year or so. Rebooting the DVR solves the problem, until it fails again after a day or so. Thanks

Hi guys I'm have trouble finding the right cable to wire door contacts to a Dahua DVR. It only needs to be 2 core cable, ideally as 'small' as in the picture. I can easily find 4/6/8 core alarm cable, but would like 2 core for a tidy job. Bell cable has been suggested, but it's solid and i'd rather have stranded cable. I'm based in the UK. I know it's a bit of a lame question, but what cable to you pro guys use? Could i use speaker cable? My other cable related question is I'm installing a couple door contacts on gates in the garden. As the image below, say i'm running the cable for right to left and fix the contacts on the edge of gate and frame opening. What is best practice to protect the cable from damage when open and closing the gate (by the hinge)? Thanks

Hi all I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction - i'm after one 16ch Dahua DVR in Nice, France. I'm based in the UK and it's a one off install. Be great if there is a distributor in out there. Otherwise I'll probably end up taking a dvr with me and hope no problems arise. Thanks

Thanks, just contacted them.

Dahua DVR Apollo HD 4 Channel 1TB DVR H.264 Firmware version 2.608.0000.2 Build 2011-5-27 I have one alarm input sensor that is attached to a door. The DVR always logs the door movement correctly (see below). Local Alarm – door open. Alarm End – door closed. The problem is the email notification is inconsistent. The way it seems it should work with this DVR is you receive an email alert when the door is opened and another when the door is closed. Often you only receive one email, on open and closing of the door and a few times no email has been sent. The sending interval is set to 3 seconds. I have tried 3 different email smtp setting with the same results. Please see below for screen shots. Is there anything else I can try? The other DVR I have is a Dauha 16 channel and it works perfectly 100% of the time, always sending only one email, it seems the DVR firmware is setup differently?

Email alerts inconsistent with Alarm input

Updated the firmware with the latest on ADATA website. The update seemed to work as i heard the beep the DVR makes when rebooting, however when checking the firmware no. and build no. they are still the same? I also checked the logs and they don't show any 'sigh' the firmware has been updated, tho' they may not in any case. The door alerts are still inconsistent. Will try the update again, when next onsite. -

If i knew where/how to check i would I've contacted the UK supplier, but they haven't replied yet. -
Hi all, I recently brought 2 Dahua dvr's with 1TB hard drives for separate suppliers - both have newish firmware. Now the weird part - both DVR are now showing Slight under the disk damage heading. And the one where i have logging enabled has logged SMART - Slight. Please see below for screen shots. I formatted one of the DVR's and that cleared the "Slight" to Normal for a few days. However Slight has returned! I have enabled all system logging on both dvr's now. Seems a very strange coincidence but I'm presuming this is not normal behaviour and there is something wrong with both these disks?
-
Dahua support sent me the list of recommended and not recommended HDD - let me know if you need it. According to my supplier i have the Samsung HD103SI - so it's not a compatibility problem. This was Dahua's response - "do you use the recommended HDD ? I think you can continue using that HDD if it works. we sugguest use HDD for DVRS,not for PC." Interestingly on the 16ch DVR the hdd has been replaced, with it only to return to 'Slight' within 4 days. According to the logs it unexpectedly shutdown and the error was shown on auto reboot - same as when it occurred the first time. Now whenever I reboot the DVR it shows up slight. The 4ch DVR unit was replaced and 'Slight' hasn't returned. I have gone back to them just to clarify whether this means it maybe a software bug and there is nothing wrong with the HDD??
-
Ahh that is interesting, so you think there may be nothing wrong with the disk? I also formatted twice and within a few days 'Slight' returned both times... I have emailed Dahua directly as well so will be interesting to hear what they come back with. Otherwise the DVR is working 100%. It seems to only show the disk error on reboot and will beep if that's enabled. Firmware version is 2.608.0000.0,Build:2011-9-28

BUMP - has anyone ever come across the 'Slight' hdd error in the logs?

A friend of mine in another country wants his DVR replaced. He currently has an old AVTech dvr with 9 cams. To save flying out as timing does not suit i wondered if the below was possible. The shop there will install a DVR harddrive and enter the local network settings with same port, etc as previous DVR. Will my mate simply need to plug in DVR, network cable and 9 cams and i'll be able to remotely login and begin setting up the DVR? Will the DVR allow me to login remotely without logging in locally first - what would the login settings be? The DVR i'm planning on getting is a 16ch Dahua, not sure which one yet. Has anyone done this, would love to hear from you? Cheers Stu

Hi, tried to PM you but i wasn't allowed Be great if you could go straight to Switch Size, i currently change it manually ever time i open PSS, so it's not major, just annoying. I would have no idea how to edit EXE so whichever way you think is best/easiest - I would do it if i knew how! -

Being playing around with this quite a bit yesterday. I understand the first paragraph, but i'm lost on the second! I have found the easiest way that works everytime on Vista and Win7 is to copy your edited files and paste them direct in relevant folder with copy and replace option (overwrite existing files). The original shortcut works this way to. I found if i deleted the contents of the original folder first and then pasted custom files in it would go off and "reinstall" when running original shortcut as you mention. BTW you don't happen to know how i can get PSS to open to the "Switch" size. It opens up to max and doesn't remember the resize. -

BTW i figured out why PSS text screens were still out when i reverted back to 96DPI - I had forgotten about fiddling with the registry and had changed the system font to Verdana... Doh! -

Superb work, i can see all the Windows perfectly. Very neat tweaking too! The manual install works perfectly with Win 7 64bit as expected. The install path for Win7 64 is %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Pro Surveillance System(EN) However i still couldn't get the auto install to work i'm afraid. The files were replaced correctly, but text still out. Out of interest, i did notice (which seemed very strange) during the custom install, i renamed the original Default folder and then copied the edited one, to the correct path. It didn't work. I then deleted the original Default folder and replaced it with the edited one. Didn't work again. The only way it worked (not sure if this is just my PC behaviour) is exactly like you said on your website, copy the edited files into the original Default folder. More than happy to test auto install if you have any other ideas. -

Rory you are a living legend - this is exactly what i was looking for!!! Thank you so much you have no idea how much hassle you have saved me. I copied your tweaking and have now got the Options Window to fit 120 DPI at 1920x1200 RES. Done the same with the Playback screen. Both look normal now. I imagine there are other areas that will need tweaking, but those are the main ones and at least i know with a bit of tweaking the others can be done as and when needed. Thank you again! -

Agreed. I've setup it up a dozen times on Windows Vista/7 computers where I had to reduce the dpi and have never had it not work. Windows 7 does require you to log out and log back in for the resolution change to take place, but beyond that, the PSS screen should appear as normal. Have you ever had any luck getting all fonts to appear around 120DPI with the DPI set at 96. I have found it a real pain to get it right in Win and outlook 07. Nearly got there, but some font's appear unchangeable.
