Hi Leo, sorry to be a pain but its still not working. my router doesnt have portfording listed but in the manual it says to set it up in firewall and services. Any other ideas welcome. Many thanks Wendy

I am using the AVC796 DVR and the router is a netgear DGN2200. I may have created myself a problem, i changed the network info on the DVR as this is what i thought i had to do but i now believe i shouldnt have, problem is i cant remember what it had said before. Many thanks Wendy

Hi, i am a newbie and havent used forums before so not really sure what i am doing, so sorry before i even begin. I have a problem, i have purchased a Avtech DVR, i have a static ip, i have set up portforwarding on my router, problem is i cant get it all to work together. i have set all the information up on the DVR as per the instructions using my ISP's info, but i am stuck when it says in the instructions for the DVR connect dvr and computer together then set PC's IP address to 192.168.1.xxx, i cant find how to do this, and dont understansted why i would use the IP address above when I have changed the STATIC IP on the DVR in the network settings to my static IP. if someone understands what i am saying i would appreciate some help.
