DVR video files to PC. How?

Wow. Can I buy a vowel? Seriously, mate. You've 99% solved my problem. If I spark up "Video Server", I can play recorded events via the PC. Hit the "record" button while it's playing to save it up to HDD as a .VSR file. The file is full framerate and quality and can be later player using "Video Server". Excellent suggestion. Obrigado muito muito, meu amigo. Without meaning to insult JMANOFNVS, does anyone know how to convert a .VSR file to anything else? PS It's great to speak directly to the guy who wrote the damn manual.
  2. My massive experience in DVRs totals about 8 hrs, so please be gentle. I have a AVTECH AVC773W. Apart from atrocious docs written in Engrish and a case-fan which would scare off burglars, the unit seems adequate for my domestic needs. I'm OK with watching & controlling over ethernet, but was hoping to be able to transfer the video files (and maybe even the logs) from the DVR to the the PC for permanent storage. I was hoping it would appear as a network drive, but it ain't so. Any suggestions welcome.

DVR video files to PC. How?

Grabbing would absolulely work, but it's a bit labour intensive compared to "drag & drop" and I'd also be concerned about losses associated with digital to analogue and back to digital. My aim is to do quick, easy, accurate backups. The DVR has a removable HD. If I can't access the saved files via network, could I pull the HD, whack it into the PC and read it? Would it be recognised?
