I can't agree about leaving aside motion detection. Even if you have enough space you do not want to set up 24/7 recording. If an accident happens, you will check all the recordings without any reason. But if you enable motion detection, then there will be records, when you have motion, when you have something to see. So go for a little user manual and set up your camera.
