Suggestions for small home system - ~4 megapixel cameras
KOBI Australia replied to Peter_'s topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have dealt with all of the above cameras over the years both Sanyo and Sony are very good.. I am the Australian Distributor of SONY cameras and the Exmor Chipset is awesome in low light but no for every budget.. I was a ACTi dealer but with a 20% failure rate I would not touch them with a 10 foot pole. Needless to say I ght compared to SONYdropped them quickly. Also if you want a decent low cost camera then Messoa is a fair camera and nice clean images but average at low light. Also for a NVR then use Excaq or QNAP, I am dealers for both and have great success with them both -
Looking for a good IP camera
KOBI Australia replied to zozoman's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If you are looking for an affordable solution yhen look at the following cameras and NVR solution. QNAP NVR and for cameras then look at Messoa NDF821. Great camera for the price but comes as static Ip address not DHCP makes the camera a pain to setup at first install. Price is pretty good for entry level IP. -
Most affordable / reliable POE switch for the money
KOBI Australia replied to camerasguy71's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have used PLanet switches a few times now and they seem fine with great through put and also easy to use managed GUI. Also the Planet switch is gigabit on most models. For the top end switch look at Korenix as they have a great 30 watts per channel 24 Port POE Gigabit -
Many Discussion about POE switches and Viewing Live and Recorded Images via these POE Switches. I believe that throughput / Forwarding Rate on a switch is more important then anything else. Can anyone tell me what they think of the following switches ? and recommend a few manufactuers ? PLANET: http://www.planet.com.tw/en/product/product_ov.php?id=30624 Edge-Core: http://www.edge-core.com/ProdDtl.asp?sno=NQKPFU I have been using a few brands but hearing conflicting reports on what is satisfactory for loading up 20 or so Megapixel Cameras on the one switch. Let me know your thoughts

At present we are using the Active-tek and I build our our PC based linux and Windows with XP embedded but am looking to change due to the following the stand alones are getting in Australia. Here is Australia they Installers and End Users want all the features available but really only use Search and Backup... I have had many samples from both Korea and taiwan but have yet to see a DVR that foes that job.. I have had a few emails from Astel and ICRealtime what is the consensis on their product if you have dealt with them ? Have repaired a few Kodicoms system and feel they arn't that good and support down under is terrible. Look forward to hearing some feedback.. Dan www.kobicctv.com
