  1. Hi Guys, I have a RG59 cable running from DVR to TV in the living room, using BNC to Phono connector. I can flick the channel to Av\hdmi and all cameras appear on the television. Question is: How do i set the cameras to pop up automatically on the TV, when motion is detected at the front camera. Do i need to play with the software within the DVR? (DVR is Adata Atlantis 4ch) Thanks

    Cameras and hiding wire

Hi all, I am looking for a small white camera around 600TVL + that covers an area of the front door and driveway. The main thing i am after is somewhere within the camera to tuck the wiring into. A RG59+2 cable has been installed by someone else and i have access to about 15cm of it. I am unable to push the cabling back into the wall. Another option is to use some sort of bracket which may have space to store wiring..... Any links with cameras you think will fit the picture would be great!!!! Thankyou

Help needed to fix this night issue

It seems like that when the IR lights come on in the evening. They reflect off the lenses hence bad images, especially pic 2. One evening, try to take the lens off and see if picture is clear. If it is then thats your problem (ir bounce back) Hope this helps.
  6. Cool. Many thanks for the update. Seems like the most cost effective way forward. Thankyou
  7. Hi all, I am working on a new build uk property that has had all the wireing done to it. But without any cable going from the loft to downstairs so customer cannot view camera's on his TV. What is the best solution now? I have been looking at some costly wireless video\audio senders Any reviews on what these are like? Any recommendations? Also, any other ways to get video on TV on ground floor, via satelite perhaps? Many Thanks for reading.
  8. Hi guys, Still new to this CCTV install techniques. Would like to know how to install the cabling (RG59+2) inside, behind the brick work so all cabling is hidden? What tools would i need to shift the cabling from behind the brick work, into the loft? There will be a total of x4 cameras around the building. Any experienced installers tips would be greatfull. Many Thanks Vic
  9. Hi, I have installed 4 cameras using a 4 channel DVR. I was going to use a RG59 cable to transfer the video from dvr to a 32inch TV. Is this cable the best? Now that all the BNC's are being used at back of DVR. Which other connectors are best without loosing video picture quality? Thanks
  10. Apologies for the lack of Information when originally created post. I have seen the DVR and even though it is a budget one, it has Video out... so will use RG59 from back of DVR and will use RCA Connector to connect to TV. Many thanks for your help dudes.

    Misty\Foggy Image

Hi MrCarCrazy There is not a plastic insert separating the ir to the lens. Are you thinking, the camera maybe bouncing off the lens? Pictures and full spec is below: http://www.x-vision.co.uk/product.php?xProd=430&xSec=284&jssCart=b46d0dc7057a4d237d22aec414e6da68 Pic also attached. Maplin Vs The Rest

Thanks guys. I agree Maplin is cheap end of line stock. I use good quality equipment but not all customers can afford it. Had a brief look at the ABAN stuff, seems very good for the price. Well contact them this week. Thanks alot Vic
  14. Hi guys, Maplin has, from what i can see a good deal on. A 4 channel DVR for £99 which includes a ****ty camera (420tvl). Reading the spec of the DVR, sounds like a good deal compared to most CCTV companies (systemq, Adata, etc), who usually charge double the price. What do you guys think: Heres the link below: 160GB 4 CH H.264 Network DVR with 1 x CCD Camera + Mobile Access : CCTV Kits : Maplin Electronics Would be good to hear your comments. Thanks Vic
  15. Hi guys, Come to a bit of a standstill. I am trying to view 4 Cams via an app on an iphone, supplied be the company (AlienDVR) that i brought the DVR from. I can view the cameras using the app via the internal network (192.168.1.***) next step is the view the cameras externally, so i have configured the port to be open for 8080, which then should direct it to my DVR. I have tried this on the Software APP and on the browser (82.16.**.***:8080) but i am unsuccessful. I think the problem relies on the router settings. (Thomson TG585 V8) Could anyone provide me with a step by step instructions onto how to set this up or any other checks i can do. Also, after this works, i will need to configure Dyndns to work with this. I presume i just enter the DNS details in the router and set a host on the Dyndns website? Many thanks for reading this, any advice would be appricated.
  16. Hi, The port forwarding (8080) does work when the mobile app is set to look within the IP address assigned to the DVR, but as soon as i change the mobile app to the current external IP, still using port 8080. I receive a message saying "Device login failed: DVR network receive timeout". Starting to pull my hair out now. Thanks
