Hey guys, my buddy's wife wants to get him a security system for Xmas. I know somethings that he would like, and that said I would like your input on either some key things I should look for, AND/OR a few links to some reasonable suggestions that meet the key requirements.
Definitely need at least 4 cameras, no more than 6 though (prefer an 8 channel DVR in case of expansion) All cameras should be outside cameras with night vision (best night vision possible within reasonable cost) Smart phone viewing capability (I think this is pretty standard these days) He would like CAT5 connectivity (versus BNC).
That said what suggestions can you guys give me. His wife is REALLY looking to stay in the 500 dollar range, but if there is good value add, I could possibly get her to spend more.
