  1. Living up to their name I see.... Take Your Company Over
  2. Hi Guys, I'm doing a quote for a client that has a -27 Degree C freezer that he needs coverage of. Its a store room for seafood. I'm going to quote the Avigilon IR Bullet as it can handle down to -40. Just wondering if there are any problems i should be aware of if anyone has already done something like this... Cheers, Ash
  3. I'm using Avigilon camera as that is what VMS they have. I was going to power the camera using a separate AC psu. Do I need to worry about using non standard cables? I was told normal cat5 might freeze and break at that temp. Thanks for all the info
  4. Is there a way that you can get all pos streams coming into 1 device and then output that 1 stream to Avigilon ? a POS server maybe? That way you will only need 1 license. I was able to get 4 effective pos devices on 2 licenses this way.
  5. I would go with Avigilon. I've implemented the POS feature and the search is unbeatable. What license did you get quoted? standard or enterprise The 7 POS licenses should be less than 2k (if it was me selling it anyway)
  6. I'm in Australia, so we don't have Costco. I've got the hikvision from a supplier that has oem'd it and it cost me just over $300. The Dahua cost me about $170. As I'm an Aviilon reseller I'm testing with a demo license so software costs are nil.
  7. it didnt work. the firmware is General_IPC-HX3(2)XXX_Eng_P_V2.210.0001.0.R.20130517. tried it on the IPC-HDW2100 However the hikvision DS-2CD2032-I is currently recording on motion... I just hope dahua gets the firmware right as it is about half the price of the hikvision cheers
  8. Have a look at Avigilon and their thumbnail search. If you cant find the footage you need in 5-10 minutes you are doing something wrong. I'm just waiting for new firmware for a Dahua camera to test with ACC to make sure i can record on motion. Hopefully that will be today.
  9. why dont you look at the Avigilon cameras. Each camera has a DI/O and using the rules engine (enterprise license) can fire the output on motion. Can even email a picture if needed and then setup remote access so security can check the live feed before sending a patrol...

    Which home security cameras?

you could always look at something like this. http://www.lgecommercial.com/security-en/products/network-product/cube-camera/lg-LW130W i tried them when they were 5v power. now they are 12v so if you have an alarm system you could wire them into that as well. i believe i even got it recording on Avigilon too. The new software is free if you want to keep the LG software.
  11. Im on the Gold Coast and generally sell only Avigilon products. the camera prices aren't bad when you compare them to say an axis camera from Pacom or an ACTi from CSD PM if you need to know anything
  12. why touch and smudge the monitors when you can use kinect if only this was purchasable
  13. Have you looked at Avigilon? I know that you can do redundant and also failover recording, for example have B1 cameras recording to both B1 and B2 NVR's at the same time, or that if B1 NVR fails, that B2 automatically starts to record the B1 Cameras. You can also have each control room have access to all the cameras. You would just need to make sure a redundant network link is active between both buildings...
  14. Avigilon VMS using the core edition should be cost friendly. It's what I'm running at home Just depends on number of cameras and storage requirements etc
  15. I generally only quote Avigilon cameras with Avigilon VMS. That way I don't have any 3rd rate camera issues.
  16. that sounds like a decent system u want... hope u got some decent coin. Things u will need to consider. Camera resolution and frame rates Total incoming bandwidth to the NVR. Storage requirements. How many days storage required? is motion only ok? A system like this you should have a recording NVR and use a separate workstation to view and play back. If it were me. I would use something similar to this Avigilon NVR, 10 TB 1x 24chn license (depending on needs either standard or enterprise) If you use all 2MP cameras then you should get approx 30 days storage based on 10ips with 50% motion. Avigilon 2 monitor workstation Linkysys/Cisco SG 300-28P network switch. (not sure if it would have enough juice to power all the cameras, its late and my head hurts to think, otherwise use a non poe switch and get a some fused AC power supply boxes with some fig 8 to the camera as well. I would even separate the networks and have the cameras coming into 1 nic on the NVR and have the workstation onto another nic. Just so you keep the incoming and outgoing bandwidth separated. just my $0.02. cheers
  17. i've had issues with Nuuo in the past. I've had the problem with the camera being too high of a firmware version for Nuuo to support it. The last straw was a software version upgrade that screwed up the way the files are written, and it then broke the auto recycle function. The DVR was on my test bench for 2 months while Nuuo would teamviewer in every day to fiddle. Problem was it was for a gaming room and i couldnt just delete the footage and reload. Ive also come across one sight that has 19 acti cameras and the NVR struggles... i think its on the 2.3 version. Ill look at upgrading it to V3 So glad Ive now moved over to Avigilon. Nothing ever seems to compare anymore. I couldnt recommend anything else to my clients.
  18. dont forget about small kids in back seats. if it exists, it would be custom made...

    New Setup

spend the money on an IP camera. theres no point putting a camera up if you can see the breakin but cant get any info the cops can use.
  20. i know its not a standalone system, but you could always look at Avigilon system using 4 encoders... I'm sure some of the yankees in the forum might be able to contact you with regards to pricing etc...

    ANPR \ LPR

Ive installed a couple of Avigilon LPR systems. Its so easy to use and the searching is lightning quick. The system works great, the only drawback i have is that in the state I'm in (Queensland, Australia), we have a lot of customised license plates and some of them are non reflective so they may not get picked up. With all ALPR systems though, you need to be aware that some plates just wont get read. IE, dirty plates, obstructed plates (bike racks or tow bars), if you are reading from the front of the car then missing plates, (especially motor bikes) Just make sure you have the overview to be able to physically read a plate if the ALPR camera misses it.
  22. the total distance needs to be less than 100m you could use something like this http://www.eql.com.au/ela100.htm Always in conduit for outside work. never leave a cable exposed unless it is specified as outdoor cables, even then i would still conduit it. to keep costs down maybe, also have you seen how a fibre cable is terminated ? im sure a fibre tech wouldnt like to take his splice machine up a ladder... normally you would install a fobot at the bottom of the pole, have a media converter, injector, etc, and run cat5 up to the camera. hope that helps
  23. Anyone know what Serial number batch had issues ? I have a HD2300 that is constantly dropping out and its on the latest firmware...
