Trying to figure out how to pull the live footage off my KGuard dvr and embed it in a webpage google searches have turned up all of one relevant result and it was just the html code that was a bit over my head. Anybody have any clues? It should be possible to pull the individual live feeds from each channel of the dvr as that is basically what the 3rd party phone app I use to access it does I am just having trouble nailing down the particulars.

Well a pelco spectra costs about 2k so for 600 (1k after cam and lens ) that one would seem like a steal. Most business won't care about the controller because the installer will set a pattern and leave it at that.

Depending on your DVR it may work with NVR software so you would be able to view all your camera's on the pc running the NVR software but have the analog cams record to the dvr and the ip cams record to your pc there are a few good free NVR programs out their that will do this.

If that blows your mind then you should see when you have five or six PTZs all hooked up in serial off that same cable pair

I as looking for a similar set up at my place so I put some research into this. You won't be able to push you dvr feed out over the same coax that your Uverse is running over so if you don't want to run any existing cabling the RF converter is probably your best option that aside you can always use the RCA or Svideo outputs which are easy to split with cheap equipment and you can order long runs of it pre-made for cheap if you know where to look.

Nice don't think pelco even still makes those they push their spectra dome's pretty exclusively for a PTZ solution these days. Pelco's stuff is usually pretty user friendly so it shouldn't be hard to hook up will use the Pelco D format by default and if its the only PTZ you have hooked up to your dvr shouldn't even have to do any set up. Let me know if it does give you problems though I still have a lot of old Pelco manuals laying around.

In my case at least already have the 4 channel dvr and a crappy camera there just need something with better night vision, I'll post pics later today when I get home from work so you guys can see the set up I am talking about.

Always hated wiring those things in serial the dip setting can be irritating at times I usually try setting them to oddly high numbers 4 -8 for testing if both are still registering with as camera 1 then there may be a dip setting to turn on serial setting also may be a setting on the dvr to let it know you have more than one camera on that control run. Out of the various protocols Pelco-d seems to have the fewest hiccups your Nuvico probably supports it as it is pretty much standard.

Water shows up surprisingly well on IR probably even better than in color at low light and your right about using 2 good fixed camera's defiantly cheaper but again sealed enclosures are expensive, The pelco thermal ptz was insanely expensive I believe over $3k but it can pick up minute temperature differences and crazy distances the one I saw was picking up stuff at around 200 feet they market them to oil and natural gas companies to spot small leaks in long chunks of pipeline so they know they can get the $$ they are asking for them.

Rather than start a new thread thought I'd high jack this one as my set up is similar only I currently have a wired bullet camera already mounted over looking the drive way and am looking to upgrade as the one that is there now is a crappy kguard IR that came with my DVR. Looking to spend around $100 need to be able to see clearly up to the 30ft or so at the end of the drive way. I'd be willing to send more if I could find a PTZ but still don't won't to go over around $200-300. Any suggestions?

20 meters is a long shot for infra red you can get around that by putting in a few IR light sources which are pretty cheap, and the LED ones are durable so a little damp won't hurt them. Sealed PTZs enclosures however are expensive and you'll probably have to find a vendor or installer in your area to lay hands on one and then expect to pay in the thousands for it. Pelco makes a pressurized PTZ enclosure than can handle pretty much anything up to and including small explosions but again you'll pay and arm and a leg for it. They also make a thermal PTZ but depending on what your'e looking for on your wall that may or may not work for you.

I used to do installs for a Pelco vendor they make about the best stuff out their but you pay out the nose for it if you can find it as they mostly only sell through certified installers and for home use they are a bit over kill.

To add a new twist I have the same problem as the original poster only I get the same fail to log in if I use the client software but I am able to use the android app ip cam viewer to view my at xxxx.xxx.org with media port 9000 without any trouble, no idea whats going on that it doesn't want to let me log in over the net.
