Who _really_ makes this mobile DVR?
CCTV Design replied to flyeye's topic in Digital Video Recorders
If you can find the true manufacturer, they will not deal with you for less than 10 units anyway. More likely 50+ -
The camera is tight enough but obviously needs to be looking a little higher. However the resolution of the DVR or NVR is crap and will never give a good image.

This advise is without any support if you break it. Open the DVR (powered down), remove the battery that holds the BIOS. If there is a super cap, short it out. This can sometimes cause a clean restart.

Webservice 2.0 question
CCTV Design replied to plasrobin's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Im not exactly sure what you are asking but if you use an IP camera or DVR that can send a JPG image, you can easily do this with a script on the page. Just FTP the images to the web server from the camera and then load them. I have written software to do time lapse recording via this method. Tim Norton -

Who _really_ makes this mobile DVR?

Chances are neither are the original brand. The practice of OEM allows Asian manufactures to sell much larger volumes by branding them for multiple companies. While the product may be OK, the support on this kind of sales is often 0 If you buy from a recognised name (a manufacturer) it will often cost more but you will get on going support. Tim Norton -

800m on cat5 UTP is a long way and I suspect the voltage drop you are getting on this cable is going to be too much. If you have a multimeter, measure the voltage at the camera when it is meant to be running. If it is lse that 11.5 volts, that is the problem. Because you have 2 nice IR lights and the camera to power up, UTP is not a good option. Can you move the power closer to the camera and only use the UTP for the video? Tim Norton

Mobotix Control Center - Viewing Other Cameras
CCTV Design replied to Peter_'s topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
In short No. You can use a Mobotix camera on a 3rd party VMS along with other cameras. Common VMS brands that accept most cameras are Genetec and Milestone Tim Norton -
