I have another odd ptz camera here I unfortunately do not have a picture of it I know it is controlled with bbv up the coax so I would assume the dome has this in it, but the could be a converter. When you save a preset it shows a gray rectangle with the text "Scene 1 Stored" and when you zoom in it shows "Digital zoom: 5x" the is also some other text which is off screen on all the cameras, looks like it may be sector text (centered at the top but you can not see it properly) Hopefully someone knows what dome this is.

I think the problem is cheap baluns, they are not a matched pair either, might go buy some matched ones. The polarity is correct as when I reverse it the image goes away. Will get a pic of the baluns if that helps.

I have an issue with a camera in my system. It's a vista vandal dome and tests fine but when it is connected to the cat5 cable with baluns and such I get this horrible interference its nothing like any ground loop I have ever seen and no matter what I have tried it will not go away. The camera is powered by 24vac (I tried 12v and the issue was worse) and is on the same power supply as my ptz dome and that has no grounding issues I am using one pair for video and the other 3 pairs for power, no idea whats wrong here. This is my first camera using baluns and if it is some sort of issue involving the cat5 and baluns then it will be my last I have 3 other cameras using coax and never had an issue. Could anyone shed some light on what this is and how I could possibly stop it from happening. Thanks

I'm looking for a non-Hikvision DVR.
adamxp12 replied to pecosdave's topic in Digital Video Recorders
The problem with that web interface is that from the moment I see it, even if I don't have legitimate access, I can be in administrator mode on the web interface in under three minutes. There's a built in admin account that can't be disabled on those systems, the good news it you can't just type in the user name and password to get in, raising the bar just a little, but you can (and I have) create a cookie with those credentials and take over the system. This DVR needs to be on our internal network for our security guard to use AND on the real internet for our security company to remote monitor. I don't need a UNIX system that any twelve year old on a mission can own without even having to know how to use the good hacker utilities. Try a dedicated micros dvr. they are expensive but they have a native mac client and the web interface can be set to use a java client so it works on nearly any computer -
i think you`re right. Can i buy photocell online?? thanks Yes you can buy them they are usually referred to as a ldr (light dependent resistor) the only problem is they come in different resistance values so you would have to find out which ldr you have in your camera
-
Yes you are correct the image would usually be tinted pink because either the camera does not have a ir cut filter (usually cheap cameras) or it is stuck as some people have reported on the forums.
-
You more than likely fried the photocell that turns the IR lights on at night
-
IR Cut usually means that theres a filter that blocks infrared light in the day then at night it is mechanically moved out of the way of the sensor allowing use of infrared lighting. The reason they have the filter is because the sun emits some infrared light which makes the image washed out and colours usually turn a weird shade of pink/gray so they have a filter to block this light.

I have an older dedicated micros SD dvr (software 4.2 so not the newer SD) I do not have the IR remote or the KBC Keyboard to control it but dm say in the datasheets that it can be controlled with a usb mouse and keyboard but all I get is a mouse cursor no buttons I can click and the keyboard acts like its not plugged in (caps lock, num lock & scroll lock wont work) Is the something I am missing or do I have to spend £300+ on the KBC keyboard

Any ideas whats going on with 2 out of my 3 cameras?
adamxp12 replied to dstanton's topic in Security Cameras
looks like condensation is inside the cameras and the heat from the camera being on would make it clear up -
16 IP cameras have slowly stopped transmitting video
adamxp12 replied to roboman554's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
have you tried rebooting them? if that fixes it then it is probably a software bug which may be fixed with an update if it don't fix it then the cameras must have a hardware issue -
Is that an error on the screen about the power? maybe the camera is not getting enough power and stops everything and points to the floor or something what sort of cable you powering this camera from is it 18/2 or is it some pairs on cat5 cable a ptz needs a lot of power and so 18/2 should be used if possible as cat5 cable is too thin to carry 2-4 amps of power for a standard ptz dome. how manys amps is your power supply? again should be at least 4 amps for most ptz domes to work properly.

sorry this is late but I may have a solution If it is on the network then use putty to telnet into the unit if you can get in then run the following commands cd hdd0 cd etc del user.db reset the dvr will restart with no passwords, I have done this on several sd dvrs and dv-ip units, so should work on the ecosense. if the is a password on telnet then you can try replacing the hdd as the password database is stored on it but it is a bit of a pain to do. hopefully they did not set a telnet password Hope this helps you.

I have a pelco spectra iv camera that was damaged in shipping i was able to super glue the broken parts and it is working fine but the ir cut filter seems to of been flipped because it dont see IR in night mode and in day mode the image is really pinkish Unlike the sony modules that most ptz's have, the is no easy way to see the ir cut filter and flip it Any advice other than buy a new camera?
-
Maybe they aren't receiving enough power and when the heater kicks in they stop working Do they work if you power cycle them?
-
If you don't want any IR (no ir cut filter) JVC TK-C9201EG would be a good choice but any camera with more than 480tvl should work but if you want IR then you would have to get a Samsung SDN-550PH Or a camera with True Day Night IR Filter (ICR) I have that camera and its ok but its not that sharp of an image (330tvl) Would be fine for short range or zoomed in with a big 5-50mm lens Most of these cameras have no lens included so you will need to get an auto iris lens for each camera (auto iris has the wire coming off of it) Otherwise you will have issues with the image being overexposed due to the manual iris
-
I quickly looked at the manual but I can not see an option. You can try factory resetting it, but I think that maybe some software is doing it like your NVR if you have one
-
That camera has a ir cut filter, maybe this has got stuck try powering down the camera
-
That would not work because that housing looks like it was designed for ip cameras, the heater would not work on 12v, would better to get some normal power & bnc baluns and bypass the heater at least where I live theres no need for the heater, but it depends where you live.

cs854 PTZ and Axis 241S question
adamxp12 replied to mike_va's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
For most ptz cameras you don't need a ground The axis server should have the protocol set to "Panasonic" with an address of 1 -
Unfortunately the tk-c9200e is what jvc call "Easy day/night" which basically means its done digitally not with an ir cut filter, they may work well with motion lights but you can't use IR Unfortunately all True day/night cameras are expensive, but you get what you pay for The cheapest i have seen is this Samsung SCB-2002P
-
Depends on what you have to offer
-
I am looking for dedicated micros Cameras DVRS Keyboards And any other dedicated micros equipment Broken or not broken
-
You need to look for a TRUE day/night camera with a ir cut filter that camera does not have that filter so it is not sensitive to ir You need a camera similar to these JVC TK-C925E Samsung SCB-2001P They will be better suited to outdoor situations even if you are not using ir I have seen better low light performance with a True day/night camera compared to a normal one
