help me wire in new cameras to my system
adamxp12 replied to walkerj6's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
That green terminal block is your power line, its not using a 2.1mm jack You will need to wire it up to a jack like this if you want to connect it to the old cable Make sure you waterproof the connectors or your camera won't last very long -

cctv alarm wont stop - please help
adamxp12 replied to adspud0's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Go in the menu and find the option to factory reset or default this should fix it Do you have cameras hooked up it might be the motion detection, some dvrs can be set to sound a alarm if motion is detected, try it without cameras Do you have any alarms set up on the back of the unit if so try unplugging them -
I'm having a hard time finding a 485 bus or mmj cable for a dedicated micros keyboard they cant send me one and say that i should check maplins but they don't sell theme either just got outbid on one on ebay for £8 ripp off Does someone know where these cable can be bought in the uk? Thanks

I would but the crimper is upward of £60 I can buy a cat5 crimper for less than £20 why is the offset one expensive might just make a normal rj12 and shave the tab off then it will fit

Why would anyone go with an analog camera system these days?
adamxp12 replied to ak_camguy's topic in General Digital Discussion
Ip cameras are more confusing, it requires fast computer to view and record & it slows your internal network down also what if i buy a dedicated micros nvr then i can't use a hikvision camera unless its supported, doubt it also more expensive because it requires a nvr or hybrid dvr and a poe injector or poe switch analog: plug any brand of camera into your dvr from any brand and bingo it works you might have to change things like wdr and agc but no problems with networking, compatibility (unless you're using ptz) or any fps problems from an overloaded network switch Conclusion buy a hd-sdi system same video quality as ip & same ease of use & compatibility of analog but none of that network crap -

Just tried new psu which is 5a so theres no underrated psu still doing strange thing late at night and early in the morning right now i cant go to presets and movement is only working on top speed with 2 second delay doubt its interference coz it works fine in the day my only other guess is that its getting cold and glitching out but i cant see why that would happen because theres a heater and fan in the camera

I have a strange problem i cant seem to fix I have a dennard 2055 dome camera which works fine in the day but at night the control is very intermitant mainly the presets sometimes i have to click the preset button 6 times to get it to respond again in the daytime its fine why does the control go mental at night even the menu is unresponsive my guess is maybe the dark image is doing something to the control but it worked fine indoors in a dark room i also have a dennard 2050 so i can experiment with that and see if i can replicate this issue. its also on the corner of my house above a conservatory so i cant get easy access to it Any help would be appreciated.

Under rated power supply Cant see why that would matter because there no built in ir but i will try it tomorrow i also tried the video amplification and even factory defaults but it still didnt fix it
-
Power surge? Did you have any lightning, power cuts or brownouts recently
-
Try power cycling the camera if that dont work then reset to factory defaults

control spectra 3 with dvr

What protocol is your dome and dvr set to should be pelco d with an address of 1 -
Should I use a mounting arm in this location for a dome?
adamxp12 replied to Wizz's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
put it on the side then use silicon to prevent water getting under it -
I think the new fancy netvu models work at 38400 baud not 19200 like my older ds2 you should try that again in the bootloader mode
-
Ok using this converter i found (after realising va means watts) my camera should work fine on 24v pulling 20va less than 1a load and my power supply is a dantech so even if its a bit over it should be fine
-
Does anyone know how many amps a ptz dome with heater and fan would take specifically a dennard 2055-211 just got it but my power supply is only 1amp and i dont want to blow fuses
-
Should work fine just make sure the usb adapter is acting as a real serial port most if not all of them do but some don't
-
I have used twist on connectors in my home system with 15 camera and they are fine but the crimp and compression connectors are better but also more expensive No difference in quality it's your option Me personaly would use twist on because they are simple and require no tooling
-
The old cameras should work fine as long as they have a standard bnc connection ONVIF is a ip camera standard so yes the analog cameras will work fine with motion detection if the dahua has it

Sanyo b/w camera model vc-2330.
adamxp12 replied to MuzzerWorld's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Seems to be a obscure camera this manual is similar though http://cctvrepairs.tk/pdf/sanyo/VCC-6592P.pdf -
Cat5 thats your problem I will never use it always use rg59 even if cat5 is cheaper dont mean it's made for cameras and analogue stuff only ip cameras on cat5 rg59 is more expensive but better quality and longer runs have you tried hooking a test monitor up to the camera directly Try swapping the power supply should be 24v AC not dc Power supply's usually fail by outputting more and more noise on the output until they die Is the power going through the cat5?
