Have you checked the wire from the switch to the camera, might of been damaged
-
rg59 is usually shielded and i have run all my cameras with it (no problems with interference) because i could not be bothered with cat5 you should not bother with cat5 either it has a lot of interference and adds more bulk with baluns rg59 can go up to 1000ft never tried more than that Dont bother with wireless it is insecure someone can view your cameras with a cheap baby monitor or a wireless cam sniffer I would replace the digimux because its from 2003 so the image and fps is probably not so good

If you can pick two then the should be two rs485 ports On a dedicated micros ds2 there is 4 serial ports (need to solder wires to a db9) so thats 4 protocols Check and see if theres a "bus a" or "bus b" As far as i know you can only send ONE protocol down a rs485 line

Did you put it into bootloader mode This can be done by going to the shutdown option in the menu and when it asks you to hold down camera 1 hold down camera 2 You need a NULL modem serial cable not a normal one Then try connecting with putty at 19200 Worked on my ds2(dvtr, old old non netvu model)

Have you tried power cycling the cameras -
This might be overkill but have you looked at the dedicated micros tranvu http://www.securitystoreusa.com/Dedicated-Micros-TransVu-xpress-DVR-4ch-30pps-250g-p/dd-tve1250a4.htm Expensive but it can do 4 ip and analogue cameras and works with the dm observer software so its easy to backup and even view remotely while the bus is moving

Have you tried setting or going to preset 95 or 98 thats the common ways to get into dome menus although the samsung manual don't seem to tell you
-
Make sure your dvrs ip has not changed as well should be static Have you tried it locally on wifi?
-
Have you tried using a NULL Modem cable to serial into the dvr Has to be a null modem I was confused awhile back as to why i could not serial in Connect it to serial 1 on dvr then follow the instructions 1) Enter bootloader mode by going the menu to shut down but instead hold down 2 2) Wait for it to boot up to "Halted in bootloader" 3) Use a terminal program like hyperterminal or putty to connect to com1 (or your serial port) at 19200 4) type "+++" - a prompt should appear. or do ESC ESC ESC 5) Type the following commands (Note the character is not echoed): M\ETHER_IP\ M\SUBNET\255.255.255.0 M\GATEWAY\0.0.0.0 - e.g. routers ip M\STORE RESET The dvr should reboot with the network settings you assigned on step 5 This should work
-
No problem. Did you get the ip address set?
-
Easy to do the upgrade without internet you have a ds2 m2ip correct? https://www.dedicatedmicros.com/software_release/index_firmware.php download the cd upgrade iso then burn it and instert it in to ds2 then go to "Time, Date and Language" and select system shutdown but instead of holding down camera 1 hold down camera 4 This pdf will gude you step by step http://server.adamxp12.com/DS2_CD_Upgrade_Instructions.pdf

Might be a password have you tried reloading the firmware on the hdd
-
Hold down the menu button on the dvr to get into installer mode then keep pressing menu until you get to system options then scroll down to network settings and set up a static ip No need for a db9 cable

DS2 not respond , no IP , no hyper terminal
adamxp12 replied to ajdsad's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Just out of intrest did it cost you anything to have it fixed? Was it in warranty or out of warranty? -
Did that and it corrupted the bootloader on a ds2a(dvtu) So NEVER Try to do this unless you need a useless dead box thats expensive to fix
-
Can someone guide me on coveting a DS2(DVTU) to netvu it can be done the are other fourm posts but they are no good and hard to follow Don't matter now i somehow corrupt the bootloader and cant be arsed to fix it
-
I fixed the tilt issue which was causing this error by reseting this connection The is another connector near the pan motor but I only had tilt problems Hope this helps someone because i could find no information on how to fix this
-
Can someone explain what this means my dennard 2050 dome keeps doing it and i have to power cycle the dome to fix it also this tilt is very finicky as if a sensor has gone bad or something Please can someone help. this dome is brilliant otherwise
-
I recently bought a dennard 2050 dome which works fine but its not the /wp model which means it can't go outside but upon inspection it has the weather sealing rubber grommet so can i use this outside or would it break it?
-
Is my install on this camera bad or not I think i did a good job but the wires are not run yet That will be done tomorrow Hopefully
-
I could but where we put the camera up we can't drill through and we need another camera pointing the other way so we can just run another line to the junction box
-
I don't have metal flex but i do have some heavy duty plastic flex I have a hard time cutting it on the ground so i doubt people can cut it because the camera is on the second story of the building and they would need a ladder and a knife and considering the camera is on the same wall as a bedroom I think someone would notice before any damage is done to the camera. Should I get some metal flex or will the plastic be fine?
-
Yes Into the the box. then drill through the wall and then run to my dvr
-
Found a file on the dm website thats tells you what dvrs can be upgraded to netvu And you're right my model can not be upgraded
-
