Ground Loop in System, DVR has Ground, where to connect?
coreyman replied to coreyman's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Because it doesn't address the CAUSE of the problem. I mean, can you elaborate on that please? -
I don't know I'm an LTS dealer.

Thank you for your help.

Ok I did not know that, but where do we find higher amp rated fuses for these boxes?

Ground Loop in System, DVR has Ground, where to connect?
coreyman replied to coreyman's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I can get the isolators for half that price each I'm a dealer. Using a separate power supply for every camera would increase bulk of cabling near the wall and cost me a lot more time rewiring. As it stands now I have wall plates for all the BNC connections with keystones and ONE cable for power coming out of the wall with no keystone, looks a lot better than 8 cables coming out of the wall with no keystone. A separate power supply for 8 cameras would be a nightmare. How is this only a workaround and not a fix? -
to be fair i have a standup fan and a ceiling fan also running almost 24 hours anyway .. and i live 10 feet from a main road .. Ahh ok you are used to the noise, I live out in the country

Earlier today I googled that filetype and it seems proprietary. If it is a Saber you need to contact saber.

I guess the DVR isn't 5FT away from your coffee maker at 5AM either?

I've already ordered some of those but I've read elsewhere that you put them right before the camera, not right before the DVR, so which is correct? I also read that if you have a ground loop problem on ONE line, it can affect all the other cameras, so you need an isolator on EVERY camera right? Thank you for your help. (Also I was wrong about the DVR having a grounding knob... this model does not... but I do have a model that has one... idk what it's for) -
Even if it did, how would you select the access point and/or enter security keys?
-
Even if your IP address isn't static you can still use it to access your DVR, make sure you have the ports forwarded.

There should be a list of all the free DNS services out there I had it at one time, but I usually use 4.4.4.4 and 8.8.8.8

Beam clamp looks just as tacky as what they have done here, DRILL into this with a metal drilling bit and then SCREW or BOLT the camera in.

I can not recommend the cameras, but I can answer some of your questions. All cameras unless you get box cameras come with the video and power connector. The Signal comes from the cameras TO the DVR not the other way around, NTSC/PAL cameras will work on a PAL DVR. Lots of bullet and dome cameras are built with the same internals.

Can you mount DVR sideways as long as the fans blow up?

Do you buy your Zmodo DVRs from Zmodo in Shenzen? -
From my experience these power supplies only provide 1AMP per terminal and some of LTS cameras pull more than an AMP, makes them useless almost.
-
With a $1500 budget you are not going to get top of the line images, you are going to have to sacrifice some quality. You don't HAVE to mount under the eave, you can drill in the brick and put anchors.
-
Any reason you are looking for kguard? Just contact kguard on their company website, all I had to do was contact Zmodo and LTS and they gladly sent me some pricing.

That's fine if you got it somewhere that can muffle the sound, here at my house we have the DVR on top of some cabinets in the kitchen and you can hear the hard drive spinning when you go to get coffee in the morning, WD Caviar Blue. Some of the Seagate options explained in this post sound like a pretty good alternative.

From experience the blue and the black are very noisy and you can definitely HEAR the difference in a residential setting. You don't need anything super fast for recording the video, go with the green.

HELP recovering the password for this DVR
coreyman replied to creadd's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Open it up and read the board serials and see if there may be manufacturer details on there. If all else fails, just suggest to the client to get a new DVR because this is NO-NAME etc. I am assuming this is at least a few years old and all the newer dvrs will outperform it in the same price range as that one costed. -
A good Android cctv viewer

Meye doesn't work with some systems, but it is great software. Try supercam if meye isn't working. -
Hello guys, I have been installing cctv for a while, even while inexperienced. I have learned a lot from just getting out in the field and doing work, but some recent problems I have ran into require some research and that is why I'm here. Thank you all for providing such a valuable resource for cctv people.
