yup, I agree to that.

It's still not on my orginal CDs (V8.0.0 and V8.0.1). Have a look at the screenshots.
-
Nope, it's an upgrade.
-
I usualy steal them from kids or buy from some small Russian company My CDs are from EzCCTV GB and they have not control center on them. They have Center v2 though, but that have been there forever.
-
edit: Succeded to create a twin thread there Remove this somebody, please
-
I have both v8.0 and v8.01 on cd but Control Center isn't avalible on any of the cds. I guess that Rory was right in the first place when saying that Control Center cost extra $$. Anybody know about the pricing? Just need an aproximate, is it 10$ or 1000$? Another thing, how good can it handle low bandwith? The Remote playback server worked fairly fine and was better then several other DVR softwares.

Check this thread: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=5545 The patch will take care of your problem.

We aim to please Good to hear that it finally worked. Can I remov it from my webspace now?
-
Oki. The one you have is for ver7 You got mail
-
Which patch did you get? The working one should be: "Update_DMBackup-E.zip" It's close to 800K in size so I guess that it's not a good idea to attach it here? I got it from Geo support and it worked ok on the systems that I have updated. I could email it to you if you PM your adress, in case you don't have it.
-
Have no idea about that. Never built a small formfactor Geo system. I usually use as big chassies as possible.
-
How does the picture look at the main program? The image will be a bit blurred on the remote client depending on your connection speed.

I have one Geovision 1240 at a customer with 8 cams. Software is version 8.0 The problem is that the webserver which is set to autostart fails to start after a reboot or shutdown. I know I read about the problem about a month ago someware, but I can not find that post again Anybody that have any news about this? (Or have a link to the post about it)
-
Just unpack the files to your Geovision folder and start the system as you normally do. You are not supposed to run the "DMWebcam.exe" directly, it is called from the main Geovision application.

To demo the recorded video is easy on a laptop if you burn a backup cd from a running Geo system. The Viewlog500 soft that is burned together with the video works excelent on a laptop and looks like the regular viewlog. Then it easy to demo object search and stuff like that. The drawback is that it's not an autodemo, but the customer will se exactly what he is buying.

I applied the patch on a GV1240 system that had a clean ver 8.0 install. Hope that the patch will fix your problem
-
Found it in Ezcctv forum. I was sure I've seen it someware before, and was allmost sure that it was on Geos site but it seems that they have removed it. Tested it now and it works ok.
-
Fix avalible: http://www.ezcctv.com/download/V8-Webcam-Patch.zip Have not tested it yet though....

Got a patch from Geovision today. Will try it early next week. Fast and usefull response from Geovision.

When trying to play a video backup done with Geovision ver 8.0, viewlog500 gives me an error message stating that the file "PassDllClient.dll" is missing. I was sure that there was a patch for this on Geovisions homepage but now I can't find it. Anybody seen this problem, or maybe I'm going totaly stupid?
-
That problem is caused by the multipage option. You can have for example several quad splits that changes with a predefined interval. If you just want to use one page the following pages must be defined as "blank" pages. You define a blank page with zeros instead of cam no in the settings. I had the exact same problem with my first Geo 8 installation at a customer. Much embarrasing. Hope this makes sense, otherwise let me know and I'll try to explain better.

Do you have any pricing on these machines? And do you know if there is any european distributers that have them?
-
I have a customer that in the middle of an installation suddenly changed his mind. The system that I was setting up is a 9 cam solution with Geo 1240. The customer suddenly wanted the server in an office 300 m away in a different building and it has to be IP based . All the cctv cam and cabeling are done at the moment, so I'm thinking of some kind of "BNC to IP converter" to be able to use the allready mounted cams together with an IP software like Milestone. I know that such solution exist but I have no experience of them. Anybody that has tried this? Pros/Cons? What happens with image quality?

I meant ACTi but wrote Axis. Axis I can get.

On the other hand the next release (8.0.1.0) will probably have both fixes and some new features which will have bugs which will force a new release and so on...... So when the soft is stable it's time for a new major release I've seen this alot in other softwares (mostly my own ).
