  1. I am using an Aver 1004 with an alarm contact. When the alarm activates, I get an email with a snapshot attachment. Problem is you cannot control how many snapshots it sends. Anyone seen a card based or dvr solution for analog cameras that you can specify to take 2 or 3 simultaneous snapshots and send them? Thanks
  2. Not sure if you can do that with something like this. Channel Vision CAT5 to BNC Balun for Video-Audio-IR-Power thanks Mark
  3. So I had a 4 outdoor camera analog system, coax and power run to each location. I upgraded the DVR to a hybrid Aver DVR, installed a motion detector at my front door and interfaced it to the DVR for alarming, then upgrading my front door camera to a 480 TV line night vision bullet. After all this, still not happy, my front door imaging isn't all that great, I even have my lights turn on at night and I cannot even make out the face from 8 feet away. So, was thinking maybe it's time to go IP with mega pixel cams. Which introduced a whole series of other issue like getting CAT5 cabling to each of the locations. Looked at IP over coax, but it requires power at each location. Was thinking maybe outdoor Wifi, but apparently not a good route. Perhaps there is a better route. Any suggestions? thanks
  4. I was looking at getting these for home security, a few options with either manufacturer. Have not seen much talk on the forums for these with respect to IP cameras so thought I would ask. Was looking at Dahua DG852MF-IR DG853MF-IR HikVision GV-BL320D GV-BL110 There are domes to but I wanted to stay away from domes. Past experience tell me there are issues with IR hallo when the rubber seal is not firmly placed on the dome. With my weather, plastic domes may shift. Could be wrong here. thanks
  5. I just got the aver eh1004 Sorry for not being clear.
  6. Sorry, the links you posted work on my PC. From what I understand I should be able to replace the stuff before /mobile with my IP of my dvr and it should work on my network for my DVR Not sure who's pictures your link is to but I want my camera pictures not yours:-)
  7. nope, neither of those formats work, blank page. I even tried entering the port number. Does this work for anyone with a windows/mac browser
  8. Thanks all for your help but I am not explaining properly. I have a home automation system that allows me to use IP cameras. The setup is quite simple, you provide the IP of the camera and the URL for streaming images. The home automation just pulls digital stills from that URL. I should be able to do the same with certain DVR's, where I again enter the IP of the DVR and a URL for streaming images. I have seen some people successfully do it with a particular Q-See, SVATT at one time allowed it but not on their newer DVR's. I have no clue how this actually works, I do know that it should work if I can use a PC browser such as IE and enter in the specific URL, if I get a single picture back, it works. Last I also heard Nuvico allows it. thanks all
  9. I am asking for a DVR that will allow me from a PC, enter into a browser a URL that will go into the DVR and give me a digital still of one of the cameras.
  10. No, when I click on your links it works. If I change the stuff before /mobile to my network info it doesn't work
  11. Still doesn't work for me. I get a blank page.
  12. aver does. you need to look at DVRs with java http://remote.aver.com/mobile/ I went this route, however when I http to it I do not get any static images. Not really sure if I need to set something up specific to make it work.
  13. Not sure how this works. I want to setup a motion to trigger an alarm and email notification. I am trying to understand how the sensor input and relay output works. I assume it is the sensor input you use to trigger the alarm. If so, what do you actually wire to it? So I have a motion that I will be using that is part of my home automation, this I can get to trigger all sorts of devices, relays, door contact etc. I am trying to figure out what I actually need to wire into the sensor input or relay output. thanks
  14. Actually I only need 4. Just trying to figure out the benefit of the NV5000 over the 4 port EH standalone linux DVR. thanks
