hi I am using this H.264 dvr. I have configured it, so that the owner can watch his business remotely. I have forwarded port 8000. i can be accessed to the log in page. After I enter the user name and password I get the following message. "due to network or dvr busy, register dvr failed". In the web browser i enter the url as **.***.***.**:8000. Is there any other port that I need to forward. The other thing that I noticed was that I cannot ping to that ip address. NEED HELP thanks

the brand is rta-xla from intellicam systems. they recommend system port as 8000 and http as 80. Does TCP or UDP matter?

How can i adjust iris level for panasonic WCCP 284 cameras. I dont see no iris level screw that comes standard with JVC and many other cameras. thanks

Rory, I hear you LOL. Probably he got the color codes wrong while crimping. I had this guy who I had sent out for a 10 drop network job, This guy instead of doing either A or B, he went and did A one end and B on the other ( that becomes a cross over). He spent the whole day trying to get it working right. I had to finally go down there and see the problem.

Has anyone ever used NUUO cards?

I have this customer that had a crashed HD. I had to insert a new harddrive and load all the required software. GV card came with a serial number but no USB dongle. I was wondering where in the program should I enter the serial number so that it works correctly? thanks

I think it is Version 7.05. The system is about 2 years old. when GV system starts up , there is a message that says"USB protection key not found". The CD case has a set of serial numbers. Just don't know what those numbers are meant for!

I haven't tired on the spot monitor. This is a RTA series DVR (h 264), THis only happens on the 4 sony exwave that I have installed and that too after about 2 months form the install date. thanks

To summarize the responses, yes you have two options 1) Do as Rory said, use Camtasia screen capture program to allow you to play on any computer via windows media player 2) I have installed more than 30 nuvico DVR's. Especially JV series; you use a usb pen drive to copy the video segment. Nuvico DVR will copy player software automatically along with the selected video segment. That should solve all the problem

I would suggest that you consult with a professional CCTV guy before you mess up your existing network setup and spend endless hours fixing it

I have been using Logmein since about 3 years now. I support all my software customers using logmein. Believe me it has saved me a lot of miles on my truck. As fas as security is concerned my customer don't bother much, neither do I have any hangs ups... At the end of the day both are happy..

One of my customers have forgotten his admin password. I normally setup the system with a admin user name and password for my login purposses and in case some one forgets the password. But this owner changed all my setting and now he forgot his regualar user and admin user password. He cannot minimise his screen and change any other settings what soever. Guys How do I reset his passwords so that admin activities can be taken care of. thanks

Does anyone know where can i get CCTV installers code (something the electricians follow) here in the state of Texas. Sometimes folks form the city make you redo stuff that is not up to the code. And this is the code that I am trying to get .

Nuvico DV3's have a very good software as far as ease of use is concerned. I have installed a lot of different DVR's and come to conclude that Nuvico is the best for viewing recorded video and search . The good thing about the DV is that it automatically burns video player along with the recorded files. I am sure your customer will not get disappointed.

Is there a way to hook up motion detector to a strobe light? I have a customer who lives in his house behind the store. He wants the strobe light to flash if there is motion detected in his cabin at the store. Someone told me that motion detectors only work with control pannels and cannot work directly. Has anyone used strobe lights with motion detetors? thanks

yes PIR connected directly to a strobe light. It will not connect to a DVR or a alarm control pannel. Do you know any particular relay that i could use? If I can figure this out I have a lot of applications for this setup.

ilinkpro is Avermedia. checkout the demo and dvr cards they are no doubt Avermedia cards and software customized to use their name and logo. I would say your best bet is Milestone.

I have this GV pc system. It was working fine for a year now. But all of sudden cannot access web cam. I have the webcam server running, tried turing off the windows firewall, even enabled DMZ mode in the router but just cannot connect. I have have two machines with similar issues. SOMEBODY HEEEELP......
