I had read old forums before buying this Digia DVR for my customer.Man I wish I had listened to Rory. This GE Digia is a pain. Can someone show me a easy way to playback recorded video. I cannot expect the cops to install Digia client to playback the recorded video. Does it not come with its filepalyer like the other DVRs. thanks

How is this Nuvico dvr? is this a DV2 / DV3/ or a DV4? I am planning to buy one and you would be the best person to get this feedback. In this play back mode can you see recorded videos for all the cameras at the same time?

Any tempest users or installers in the forum?. haven't gotten any response about their performance and software. I have downloaded their software and connected to their demo unit. There are quiet a few bugs and hangups

Does anyone know how to playback multi channels remotely. You do a remote playback option in the first screen then you select your internet connection type and finally you put in the password. When the screen loads up you have the option to play only one camera at a time. My customer wants to play back all the channels for a paticular time period at the same time. I know there is this option if playing locally. Is there anyother software for geovision that will allow you to do this. thanks

I have installed it but gives an error message as follows "the application has failed to start because Chexk_dll_sdk.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I am sure as far as residential installation is concerned you cannot have the cameras covering you neighbours backyard. I am not sure about a commercial install. i can just install the camera and walk away saying that store A changed the position to look into store B. Still not sure what to do...

I had installed cameras at a business(A) long time ago in a bad neighbourhood. There is a small store(B) accross the street. According to the police the clerk is selling dope and want to catch them with evidence. They want me to have a camera pointing from A to B, so that they can see and record the cashiers transactions. Are there any legal ramifications to this setup? Need advice soon!!

Are the police not capable of doing their own covert ops? no! Sounds iffy to me, are they expecting you to do this for free? going to pay cash Will they expect you to testify? no. Will they provide witness protection if anyone gets nasty? I am not sure. Have they made this a formal request, in writing? no.

you are right rory. the cameras look through glass into the backyard. cam 1 and cam2 are ge cameras ( the name describes the cameras). teh third camera is a 12 ir led camera with 420 TVL. sure I will try to post a video. or you could go into remote play back and see it yourself.

check with luxriot, see if they support the board. if not than you will have to use a 4 channel video server and ip software like luxriot or milestone.

would grounding be more prevalent in 12vDC or 24vAC. I have never had a problem and hence donot know.

I have a audio camera installed on channel 1. and audio cable hooked to audio 1. here is the problem! when ever I play back recorded audio 1, channel 5 video displays with the audio stream. How can I associate channel 1 with audio one? I believe audio channels are independent of video channels in geovision. thanks

In the router or the modem? what if you(installer) would want to download someting from the web as part of the installation. You would go and undo all the changes I believe. I had to fix a GV system 3 times with in 2 months because of spyware and employes using to surf the web. I had to then start using the feature that locks the desktop.

yes Rory you are right. But it helps you support far offf locations. Do you just enable content advisor in IE or use some program to disable browser access.? later
