The link below is a free program and I have been using it for over 2 years now. You could add all you PC based DVR to this webbased program. when some customer calls you with an issuse, just log into his computer and control his desktop. you don't have to ask the customer for IP address like in VNC. I have saved tons and tons on mileage just by using this service. i build custom software for small business and it is very ahndy for customer support and trouble shoooting. You could also blank the customer desktop screen and a bunch of other features. Go check it out Here is it comes...1, 2,3, www.logmein.com.

I have bunch of cameras that i will be selling on my webiste. I wanted to put sample frame shots for each camera on my website. THis will help buyers to make a better decision on their purchase. So folks the question is how do i do that? ( camtasia, windows print screen or any other better suggestion)

I was wondering what would cause white 1 inch bands to scroll (bottom to top) across my monitor? This is the video feed directly from a dome camera. Other cameras have no problem. Could it be a bad camera or has some other technical problems. I connected other camera on the same cable and power without any issues. Thanks

In addition to the question above. Is IP CCTV really suitable for a small retail store? I spoke to milestone sales person and he suggested that I have a minimum of 715 upload speed for 6 cameras to view them remotely with decent streaming. Now a days small store or business owners use basic yahoo DSL that is only 256. To upgrade to more than 715 is an additional $80 per month. I was kind of curious to see with this bandwith demand would a customer prefer going the IP route. Has anyone used Milestone for about 8 camera installation with remote viewing? -
Any information on the Intellicam camera line?

donot buy their cameras and lens they are horrible. you will spend a lot more time replacing them. The domes go crazy with florescent light. avoid them altogether even though the price may be tempting. -

do you think 7.5fps is good frame rate -
what camera should i use so that, my customer can enlarge or zoom into the image from a recording to get a closer look at the license plate. There is this convenience store that gets broken into every other month. The store has two entrance that the bad guys use to get in the store parking lot. The owners want to put cameras so that they can get a clear tight shot of the car at night( there is enough light) with the plate number. Need your feed back on the issue. The image should not pixilate so much that he cannot read the plate.

you got my point actoss very well. Yes I am an installer. I have seen Extreme CCTV cameras, I believe they run into $600 I believe or more. But the owner doesnot want to spend that kind of money. Do you know how much they cost? -

I have heard of them. They are expensive. i was trying to see if someone had a innovative way of doing it. what would be the answer to the second part of my question? Let say i took a snap shot of the car from the DVR recording and then enlarged it, would it help. -
Okay ... i know I can help you there .. . well actually I posted on this forum already how to set up a PC Windows based DVR so it is as stable as can be (for windows). If you need a link to the thread, please just ask. Rory, Please let me have the link. I have installed a lot of PC systems without any problems (GV). But it would be awesome to know more about the path to stability
