What model of extender for $40m
-
Yet another "I cant get the password" thread on DVR. I took over replacing some cameras at a property a while back that has two dvrs that look like Dahua or ICrealtime DVRs. I cannot find any brand name on them except for the following model number C2-4416 One of the DVRs I found out the person left the default password and login of the 888888/888888 so I made myself an account but the 16 channel one I cannot figure it out. I tried admin/admin 666666/666666 and the old password that supposed to work never does. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you help me find the password without destroying it than I'll show you some nice screens of my new CNB cameras I just installed

My friend needs a new DVr. He has a 10 year old system made by Samsung with what appears to be rj45 or rj11 plugs. The cameras go to the monitor and then it has bnc output from there. Can I just cut the ends off and run a video and power off the cable with new cameras? I think he just wants a new dvr but I think he should upgrade his cameras. He lives about 3 hours away and I don't think the cable is twisted pair

I'd do separate analog and ip nvr

Sanity Check - Occasional move of NVR to different home
pal251 replied to SeattleBrian's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Id have your friend sell his client the cameras, at least at cost. That way your not dealing with moving them every time anyhow. If you have cox internet you can set it up to have more than one ip for an extra fee per month and then put the cameras on their own router/switch and nvr. That way its not on the customers home network. -
I've used purple wd drives in my last 3 dahua clones. No problems

You have photos of this fitting? -
That moment when they spot the cameras

Firefighter, You are well aware of how terrible people are to each other. I have been in law enforcement for over 10 years and people never cease to amaze me. Knowing how many people I make mad each day is why I have cameras. -

I have not put a camera outside under direct rain yet. How do you get the huge keystone jack into the junction box? I thought of cutting a corner of the cover out and sliding the cord into the box and then siliconing around the edge for a dome camera. Other way is to put the bullet camera base on top after drilling out a large hole in the cover and siliconing around the camera well. Do you have any photos close up of your installs? -
That's an oddball one. I would throw it away , lol Maybe the original owner could tell you who they bought it from?

Client wants a camera hidden in a non functional smoke detector or in a pir motion sensor. Any sample videos or ideas of where to go? Seems to be so many options out there and shady looking cameras. Does not have to have infrared but would be nice

Hardwired IP Cameras disconnecting
pal251 replied to NickDawg41's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Try a different power box. Can you hook a camera up locally to the dvr to see if loses connection. Maybe a different nvr? -
I have a couple dahua based dvrs in storage that I am going to use for testing purposes. I am missing the green alarm block input/output that goes on the back of the dvr. Any idea where I can pick one of those up at or maybe a connector that will fit on one of those pins?
-
Can I send you an email with a photo of the back of the dvr? My phone broke yesterday so I am hoping its in my drop box account
-
Most of mine that I sell are the econo line but I did find a couple to salvage off of a client's dvr that he said I could have. I would like to have a couple in reserve though.

IPC-HFW2100 cut wire
pal251 replied to jrancoy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
How did you fix the jack? Punch the wires down to a keystone jack or splice in the cable in? -
I have some from Ebay that I purchased that have a similar label. I would be willing to sacrifice one in a day or two when I get time for the cause of people to look at them If anyone is interested let me know

I need to put an IP (ethernet camera outside). There is already a coaxial line running outside for the existing camera along with an 18 gauge power wire. I thought about using one of those ethernet to coaxial adapters but don't know how well they work. I would also like to run another camera to that area of the outside of the building. The building is a hotel with drywall ceilings and I am looking at trying to find a wireless bridge that maybe 2 ethernet cameras could be attached to but I am not finding any. I dont think running new wire is an option due to having to possibly destroy the drywall unless there is a trick? Most of the wire I run is always under drop ceilings so it is much easier.

Do you guys usually tell the business owner or client to get the drywal fixed themselves or do you offer to do it?
-
Well its about 50 to 100 feet so there might be a few holes. I'm afraid the coaxial cable may be siliconed in at a few spots

Let it hang loose it won't hurt any
