What would you watch with a perfect surveillance system?
cctvmann replied to taoconno's topic in General Digital Discussion
i use our security cameras for what they are designed for orignally SECURITY if something goes on while im away from home then itll record it other than that the cameras are only left to their recording fucntion from a security point of view. Occassionally the cameras have caught some wildlife like badgers, birds and such like in the garden or on the drive but that wasnt the intention to start with that was just luck. -

Check the router log instead of Dvr and look at your Dvr port in the router log it should show a date the Dvr was accessed through the port -

PTZ Camera Stuck Looking Straight Up
cctvmann replied to Fletcher's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
try this disconnect the joystick then disconnect motor cable from ptz camera motor and reposition the head then reconnect and repower the camera see if that resets it back to normal. remember to turn the power to camer off while cable disconnected dont do it live as depending on voltage could be 24vac or dc or even 230-240 v ac on cable.where abouts are you based in uk. -
Thank you for the help. Where can I find a 5amp power supply with a variable adjustable voltage of 12-20v? Through searching I was able to find a power supply that had 12-13.8 volts, but I couldn't find anything that was 12-20v. it appears to be honest that your out your depth if i was you id leave the cctv installations to the professionals in the future./

approx 250 meters dc carrying would be a big cable required to get the volt drop out. it would be wise to power cameras locally if possible so id say additional 2 power supplies reuquired
