Must register your cameras with local police- thoughts?
cctvmann replied to shockwave199's topic in General Digital Discussion
i think this is a very good idea. if the police need a copy of footage from my system a crime number has to be given to me which ill record in my log book, when the police come for the footage the log book is filled in the copied disc is sealed with a serial number and that in turn is logged in book and the officer signs to say which police station it has gone to. When the disc is returned if im told its no longer required ill snap the disc in front of the police so they can see the information is detsroyed and the disc is signed back in as destroyed if nfa -
was in a coffee shop today and this cctv camera is installed directly above a chip and pin unit where the card reader and keypad is used by the paying customrt, the camera is a pelco ptz camera which is remotely controlled by security and was watching directly on the chip and pin area what is peoples thoughts about this is this legal and right that a person watching the camera can watch what number someone punches in. im a cctv installer by trade and think imho this is wrong.

id say ups is a must for dvrs mainly so that your dvr runs on a smoother supply and gives you a chance to shut down the machine in the case of a powercut

cctvmann replied to buythisdashcam's topic in General Digital Discussion
id suggest you purchased a ir speed dome as this type of camera gives complete protection by being able to be remotley set to an area but also it will be able to make out a person at that distance the flexibility would out way a static at that distance imhpo (in my honest professional opinion) -
id say its called a monitor
