hi does the 24v power adaptor that comes with the qvis g3 ptz cameras have polarity as i need to extend the power suply on 1 of them and it doesnt say + or - on the connector so does it mattter what way it goes i have put the multimeter on both ways and it doesnt show a minus as it does on 12v when its the wrong way i thought it was dc but in the manual it says ac http://www.adata.co.uk/downloads/documents/G3LiteManual.pdf thanks

from dvr location on the 5 meters run but havnt installed the other ones yet ho far would you go using the 18 awg wire on shotgun cable thanks

hi mate the cameras are 24v dc and they are the qvis g3 samsung 27x domes, the runs are on 1 of them 5 meters and the other 2 are about 30 to 40 meters cheers

ended up using 3 part ones every one went perfect with no problems i had to pay local camera shop 50p each

hi what is the correct way to rs485 connect 2 ptz cameras in a daisy chain have drawn 2 pictures to save on typing i got told to wire as in first picture but he never said why thanks

i was lookig at the ptz wiring on my friends cameras the friend i helped a few weeks ago with the ptz cameras and the apollo hd pro and his ptz are wired as in this picture he keeps having problems with the keyboard controller as when he puts a joystick imput in it keeps moving and when you put an opposite movement in it keepg going the other way and so on i wondered if the rs485 was wired ok

we are using the dvr for now to controll the ptz will be getting a keyboard soon is there a setting on the dvr for terminating? thanks

hi just got the domes today they are the qvis G3-S27-N DOME-G3S27 on the house we are using 2 ptz's just been looking and the termination is on a jumper and is off shall i turn the furthest away from the dvr to on not sure how we are going to wire them yet daisey chain or star in the instruction it shows a diagram daisy chain 1st terminated and last terminated how do we go on with the 2 ptz's thanks

hi just got new cameras and dvr's today and im setting them up on the bench before i install them ive set the apollo hd dvr to my tv with an hdmi cable and i have no picture the red light is on the dvr all the time do i have to connect to a monitor to change the settings to hd? cheers

just got some m4 tek screws with philips head on them ill have to go through the sheeting into some wood there is 12mm steel on one side at the top but 2 or 3mm on the rest of the other sides so should be ok they are only small domes thanks

i saw the 2 part in grax 17p each and wasnt sure to get 2 or 3 part ones i tryed a camera out the other day and used 2 twist on bnc conectors they were hard work it was a pain getting the center to conect first time 2 or 3 attemps to get it right it was just tempory until my crimp tool arives thanks

hi going to get one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/programmable-universal-modulator-33050 to send cctv cameras to all tv's in the house never used one before and also need to know before i buy one, wheather the apollo hd 4 and 8 channel (slim one's) can work with the hdmi output and also the bga output at the same time(conect hd tv to dvr and have bga out to other tv's) do i wire as follows bga out from dvr to a bga to phono adaptor on the other end of cable ' then into the rf modulator labled video then unplug the rf out 2 cable from my tv upstairs (coming from sky box) and plug it into the rf modulator (ant in)( on this maplin one) and then from the rf modulator socket that says (to tv)(maplin one) back into my tv hope this makes sense thanks

hi what cable would be suitable to use for 12v power to 2 cameras rg59 is 200ft long to dvr so i am placing 5 amp power supply local next to cameras about 15 to 20 meters away and will use seperate cable for power instead of shotgun cable i can only buy 305meters of cat 5 cable and its too expensive what will be suitable to buy from city electrical as there is a shop local to me thanks
