What about using super thin sticky black felt/other material. Not only would it reduce glare, it would actually absorb some of the light giving even better results. -
Maybe I am stupid for not being able to find it. But, I was wondering. For the cost of a decent NVR ($500) Are there NVR cards for a Desktop tower? I ask because I notice some pretty decent towers with screens and monitors for sale for cheap. Like $155.... Example 1GB DDR2 RAM and an 80GB SATA Hard Drive. Includes Windows XP Professional, 8 USB Ports, Ethernet, CD Burner, Monitor, Keyborad and Mouse Now I can easily swap out and get more gb ram, and hard drive etc.... Would this not be a better than the costco qsee dvr? I hear it's having trouble with 30fps on 4 cams when something is actually in frame moving around. I'm wanting 8ch min, 12ch Ideal 1080P 2MP cams. If I could use something like this I'd be estounded.

You guys know there is a "Beep" function you can activate in the DVR so that at night when there is motion, the dvr will omit a Beep sound. At least my duaha dvr has this, I can only assume a newer version of the dvr will do the same. It's in the "motion" section/options. -
Q-See 4 Channel HD NVR w/ 2 x 720P Cameras
Firefighter replied to EBRDDM4v3's topic in Security Cameras
I look forward to seeing what happens in the next few months. I really hope they release a 16ch with 1080P cams. Theres a thread in the IP MP sub forum. Their sending out 8 chan units now to those who order the 4chan. Assumming it's just a firmware update. -
Hey guys, as I save up for an IP system I'm mapping out all the cam location/wiring before hand. I was wondering what the Max distance is for Cat5e or Maybe even cat6 if I need to. It would be with a 1080P 2MP cam. For this specific camera it doesn't have to be POE since it's going on the outdoor brick Carport which is Powered I could always wire the power in from there within a few feet, If I had to.... Or if poe would work; awesome. As far as distance from the DVR I could be looking at 150ft for the video signal distance. Thanks.

So for each POE port you can come off with a splitter and have 8 POE? Or come off with a splitter of each and have all 8 connected, and jus power the other 4. -
NOTE: THEY ARE NOW SENDING 8 CHAN UNITS FOR THEIR 4 CHAN. Yes, I had to yell. LOL, Their sending 8 Chan DVR's out for those who buy their 4CH. I think it's just a firmware update allowing them to do it. Still only 4POE but now can add 4 more Non-POE

Maybe I missed it but I never read where it said what cameras/specs. Looks rly good to not be IP MP. Guessing hd-sdi -
Have you seen the New IP MP system they have for sale at costco? It's also under your budget by a hundred. Its 4 1.3MP 720P cams and a 1TB NVR. 400 ft of cat5 included with everything else. heres the kit http://www.costco.com/Q-See-4-Channel-HD-Digital-NVR-with-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-4-HD-720p-IP-Cameras.product.100003211.html Here's the 10page thread about them in the ip sub forum. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=32694 This system is much better than any Analog system they sell, or you could buy for the same amount I would think. If you can hold off another month or so, Costco said they will be releasing a larger IP MP system, 8ch or more and they would be 1080P etc... I'm trying to sell my analog system for one of these. Great Value. Here's some sample pics from the kit.

You should def. have fun with them. I do. I get the emails, I'll send Paypal and you ship it to nigeria. I play along, play stupid like I don't know how to create a paypal account, or when I finally get an address I say I'll be there in a week on a bussiness trip, Mission trip, family visit etc.... They get pissed and figure it out or give up. Latest was a friend wanting to paypal me the amount plus a bunch to shp it to his friend. Said he was in chicago and i'm in tn and after telling him I'll be there near him next week I'll bring the unit and take cash he said he couldn't meet up sorry. I hate em, I hope karma get's em. And btw, we call that the projects or gov housing. -

I just realized, Each camera comes with 100FT of Cat5. Both the 2 pack and the 4ch system includes 100ft cat5 per camera. I nice plus considering the price already. Heres the sample from the 4ch kit. http://media.webcollage.net/rwvfp/wc/cp/8973388/module/qsee/_cp/products/1347992530666/tab-3340263e-77d5-4b16-a726-2d5c7be6d294/8f022d8b-4f51-43e8-857e-08582d56f02e.jpg.web.v1.960.jpg Also notice the dvr states it will record 1080P on all 4ch at 30fps. If they would add 4 more ports, and allow 1080P at 15fps I'd be sold. -

Awesome. When Costco sells something it goes through a huge amount of testing. I couldn't believe it until I watched the documentary on it. If they come out with a 8Ch System, For say 999.99 I'll be very hard pressed not to purchase. It would be nice to get a few more features that come with the Dahua pro DVRs.... I have a 16ch analog. ugh. I've narrowed it down to I need at least 8 Cams at 7.5fps would be fine. If i could get 8 cams at 15fps I'd be tickled. Looking forward to see what they come out with before the New year. What is the email for Costco to recommend products? If we all send emails asking for something specific we may be able to get something rolling. Of course, we know this isn't a Full quality system/ However, Talking Value if they continue to pop out some good value systems like this, The amount of home owners purchasing NVR IP MP systems is going to BLOW UP
