I'm using a NTSC CCTV DVR for a slightly different purpose than security monitoring and need to instantly rewind, preferably using the front buttons of the DVR unit. I'd like to watch it in reverse to a certain point and then press play for playback, just like you can do on a VCR or on your cable DVR (or TIVO).
I've only tried a few CCTV DVRs so far, but none of them do what I want. On some, I had to go back and search for a time to replay. On another one, I had to use a mouse and select a preset rewind (such as 30-secs or 1-min) and it would jump you back that far and then start playback. Neither one of these serve my purpose.
I'd use a TIVO, but I need to be able to export the video to a USB device. I could chain a TIVO and a CCTV DVR together and do what I want, but I'd like it all in one box if possible. Does anyone know a brand that is not expensive that can do what I want?
