Yeap yes and yes. Is gotta be something in OSX 10.7.3 (latest update) that prevents PSS to work. I did install and re-installed the 2.7.0 XQuartz.

I've done some reading, new posts, old posts, you name it. That being said what are the best specs available to date for analog cameras? TVL, CCD, Lens? I really want to buy the best is out there for analog cameras and I want to get the best quality possible. They will need to be outdoors and weatherproof and lastly is for residential install. Money not an issue. Appreciate your time and guidance

Just received this DVR today and I must say I am very impressed. Speedy shipping, grab packaging. Now I have to sell my old DVR which is about a year old. -

Thank you much Sir. That is a good palce to start and I like your balanced approach.

Thanks sound and dave. This is a residential setup , good for day and decent for nights I guess It can't be all that subjective There must be some objective data to go by right? Maybe I should ask the question differently. What cameras should I consider, camera with the top and best specs available in the market?

Make sure you drop structured wiring bundles in every place you can think of. Trust me will pay off later.

Do/Would you display a Video Security sign?

You're very lucky. Wish they had same good response time here -

True that. It took my local police just 45 minutes to show up after my alarm went off in my house. Count on your own guns to protect your family before the police shows up. But that's in Houston, I don't know about other places. -

This is what I have in front of my house -
Thank you Sir. Not bad. Definitely on my radar now Thanks for making me spend more money So this is the DRC-22BS Now I gotta figure out if I can get this to interface with my DoorBell system and the VoIP Interfone that I currently have setup at my front door 2 wire system
-
I am also looking into this. The only problem I have is that I only have 2 wires running to the doorbell (my builder screwed up the CAT5 drop there) so I need to run something over the 2 wires. I do have a CAT5 above the door for the walkway camera but that won't work to get a full face kind of thing

viewing from every Tv in the house
ethanw replied to sneg_mike's topic in General Digital Discussion
Doesn't every CCTV DVR got a video out? My DVR does and I plug that into my home prewired splitter for all my TV's and I get all my CCTV cameras on all TV's. I also have an IR extender to control the CCTV DVR from anywhere in the house. -
My newly built house is wired with a Cat5+RG59 to each camera drop/location. Is it possible to run more than one analog camera over the Cat5? Do I need a special splitter/convertor to terminate the cameras and connect to the CCTV DVR? Thanks
-
Thank you all for the feedback. Is for my house. I think 2 cameras + 2 powers for each CAT5 drop is enough I am glad I have enough cabling going to the right locations around the house. So I probably could use this viewtopic.php?f=54&t=26116

Thanks Tom.... Can I feed power to all 4 cameras over the RG59 that I have next to the Cat5? Granted I have the right amps and spliter?
