You need two things to convert it to a true day/night. You need a ICR or ICR LEns and you need a chip that controls the ICR.

That unit supplies a total of 5 A. So with all 16 channels the load cannot total more than 5A. But you can have 1.1A max on one channel but all other channels must add up to 3.9A max.

Never run it parallel within a couple feet of high voltage. If you somehow have to cross the high voltage lines, make sure it is at a 90 degree angle. -
Use a pigtail adapter because cutting wires will void warranty.

home-made external camera housing
vin2install replied to ronbo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Just buy a zoom camera only then and buy a weatherproof external housing. Its not worth it to waste time building an external housing. It will cost more in the end. You will have to buy the heating elements, fan, terminal connector blocks and temperature control circuits. -

Camer w/Auto-iris lens can't adjust for light properly
vin2install replied to Scruit's topic in Security Cameras
I've seen this sometimes when I'm fixing cameras at camera company manufacturer i work for . To test if its the lens then pull the Iris plug from the back then if you see a completely black screen then your lens is ok and your camera's iris control is broken. If you see a image then still then it would be your lens would be defective. -
that's an expensive wire for residential

Solder on a VGA connector to CAT-5E cable. -
Go for a dedicated one
-
Go with a 8 channel 240 fps standalone that is stackable. Trust me, you dont wanna deal with driver issues and all the other stuff that comes with a computer based system. Plus if its stackable then it will be very scalable for the future.

the way to solve the losing natural color
vin2install replied to dylan2008's topic in Security Cameras
Yes you need ones with the ICR. If not then the filter in front of the CCD module will be sensitive the the IR in the day time and the colors wont look right. -
