Hey Birdman, what are you using for the Handycam wireless link? I want to add a camera in a spot in the house that is difficult to get a cable too. Thanks, Jason

Order came in today! Slapped a 500gb Barracuda in my DVR and we're in business. Mounted a test camera in the utility room just to play with and mounted the one for the driveway just now. Here are some snaps: Both are CNB VCM-24VF's Working on front door cam, backyard cam, and PTZ tomorrow

View CCTV SYSTEM FROM Hospital to Home
jtetterton replied to kumandan's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You should probably be looking into some type of mobile video conferencing unit. A mobile unit for the hospital that he can interact with from his home PC. -
I would assume it takes a snap of the video and emails it as a reference. It's then up to the user to go back and review the footage. I assume the footage IS your original.

I forgot to mention, if you look all the way to the left you'll see a 20/2 pair coming in. That will be to power the PTZ enclosure heater. The camera itself pulls 850ma so it should be ok on the 50ft run with 2 pairs of 24awg. The heater will be on a dedicated power supply. Couldn't live without it!

Wiring is as done as it can be until more parts arrive! Wiring comes into the 66 block top left. Cat5's are punched down, all pairs except brown. Blue pairs are segregated and sent south for the DVR. Orange and Green pairs are segregated and sent east for the power supply. The Linksys in the top right is my wireless bridge since I didn't have an internet connection in the basement utility room. The Verizon equipment is for the FiOs landline phone.

I tend to get excited and overdue projects like this O.o... who doesn't right? My wife is already irritated that I've spent like 1200 on equipment. I have three of the CNB domes and a Costar PTZ with heated enclosure on the way. I've already ran the wiring to the 4 camera locations, just need equipment to install! Should be here Friday Jason My project: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=29296

Looking good! Thanks for the pics, have any video from the dvr itself? I have a couple of the same cameras and an 8ch apollo dvr on order from Sean as well. Picture quality looks very good! Can't wait to get mine. Jason

Trying to get video image from camera
jtetterton replied to znelbok's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
http://www.etrovision.com/images/upload/Download/UM-FW1.0.9.002_b_201109.pdf A link to a manual for the 8x8x models. Page 27 deals with RTSP feeds and shows how to input a username password if security is enabled. I would *assume* that the 6150 is *similar*. I'm only guessing here. -
Trying to get video image from camera
jtetterton replied to znelbok's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Can't recall exactly where, did a Google search. Replace ip_adx with your cameras IP and I'm assuming you put that URL into your NVR for a feed. ex: rtsp://192.168.1.110/rtpvideo.sdp In the example, your camera IP is 192.168.1.110 -
Why not post a link to the manufacturer? http://www.everfocus.com/product.cfm?productid=1639 I can't do ALL the work

A quick google search for "pole lcd mount ceiling tile" brought up a plethora of results.

Found this after a quick google search, maybe it will help rtsp://ip_adx/rtpvideo1.sdp -
Not exactly cheap, but this looks pretty cool. I ran across this: Everfocus EMV200 2 Channel Ultra Compact Mobile DVR with Built-In GPS, SD Card Can't post a link due to rules, but I'm sure you can search it out if the sponsors here don't carry it. I found it for $442. The site I found it at had a PDF with specs, it said it runs off 8v to 36v, but didn't mention it's power consumption. The PDF spec sheet showed 2 mini cameras, one looked like it had a visor mount and the other a mount typical for a rear deck. It wasn't clear whether or not they are included in the price.

Reminds me of this story from the web:

http://www.etrovision.com/PressRoom_Detail.aspx?RMod=1&id=41 Connect it to your computer via micro USB and configure it to match your network? Maybe it has a static IP which isn't compatible with your current network. Jason -
We currently have 13 cameras installed in the "public" areas.. banquet hall, entrances, etc. Currently 11 are 480tvl 1/3 ccd indoor domes, and 2 are noname outdoor IR bullets. I'm looking to replace them two at a time over the next several months and would like recommendations on some good indoor domes, preferably white to match the ceiling tiles. Right now when I pull the system up at night, it's pretty much useless if the lights are off. They would need to be IR or low light, etc. The first one I'm replacing is in an inside office with no windows or light source when the door is closed. I was thinking about the SAMSUNG SCD-2010, it's in the right price range, any experience with this? I'm wondering how well it would perform with no light without IR. The most I can spend per camera is about $110 and that's stretching it. All these cameras are wired with 18/2 RG59 Siamese feeding back to a custom DVR with a GV-1480. Thanks for the advice! Jason

Replacing cameras at my Fire Department
jtetterton replied to jtetterton's topic in Security Cameras
Thanks for the tips. I picked up a Speco Technologies "Intensifier" locally for $130. 1/3 CCD with 2.8 to 11mm varifocal, 540tvl I installed it, and I'm not at all happy with the "night vision". It will be going back. I'll poke around for some basic dome with IR if they can be had for $100. Any suggestions on a vendor? -
Zero cool, Hack the Gibson!!

Love the screen name BTW. Best movie ever!

I also have a 24v power supply on order from apexcctv. My understanding is that these cameras are able to internally regulate their voltage and generally operate properly when incoming voltage is between 10 and 30 volts. My longest run is about 100 feet and I will be using 2 pairs to power each one. A quick voltage drop calculation here says: 24AWG Copper using 1 pair of conductors with 12v source @ 50 feet, camera pulling 1 amp, your voltage at the end of the run will be 10.72 24AWG Copper using 1 pair of conductors with 24v source @ 50 feet, camera pulling 1 amp, your voltage at the end of the run will be 22.72 24AWG Copper using 2 pair of conductors with 12v source @ 50 feet, camera pulling 1 amp, your voltage at the end of the run will be 11.36 24AWG Copper using 2 pair of conductors with 24v source @ 50 feet, camera pulling 1 amp, your voltage at the end of the run will be 23.36 Unless I'm missing something (i'm new here), it looks like you'll be fine with 12 or 24. I'd recommend 2 pairs though Jason

I totally understand his interest in the house. I also enjoy exploring and photographing things like this. I've photographed truly abandoned places before, not places clearly marked like this one... Someone doesn't want people there, for one reason or another... If it was posted at the driveway as clearly as it is posted at the house, then I too, would question why so many pics

That's really odd, they loaded fine for me.. Must be your internet connection loading them slowly.
