This set is of each side of the house. These are bottom of the line Mickey mouse camera made by Toy-r-us. There is a spider web on one of them and some vines on the other. I don't think I will be installing flood light on either side. Still researching a better night time camera for the sides of my house.

Here is where I am at so far. The PTZ camera is the one of the Honda Pilot. As you can see it sucks...lol. The one of the other side with the Honda Accord is one of those 720 cameras....It's ok I guess. Adding the flood lights this morning really made a difference. Last night on the PTZ camera you could hardly see the Pilot. I can see what you guys meant by adding better lighting. The ones of the front porch with the rails are with one of thos PTZ cameras. The flood light above it made a huge difference.Any suggestion please pass my way. I have worried Soundy to death so far....Mike

I don't know how to do a video and download it here...lol. I a old fart...sorry...Mike

SW, here are a few shots. I still got to do some adjustments because it zooms in to fast and spans to fast. BTW I paid 238.00 including shipping. I can't afford 4 of them high dollar ones like you big bucks get.

Everything was working ok and I replaced the cables with better ones. Also went from 12 to 24 volt on a 25 foot run. In the daytime everything looked fine in the evening everything is out of focus. Both of the CNB carmas are doing this. The cheap-o camera stay in focus.

Soundy, I went and reset both cameras and that took care of the problem. I also set it up how you suggested. I got another new problem..lol. It's PTZ camera time. I got it delevered last night. I know I didn't need it but want to have something to play with. What else we got to do with our money.....Right

Soundy, yes I did set it up like you suggested.

It's this one>> Cnb-Vcm-24Vf Vandal Dome Camera (600Tvl Icr Dnr Osd) What I don't understand was I made no adjustments on the camera This is what I had before.

Thanks I will try that and see what happens. It is calling for rain all day today...lol. I was wondering should you do this in the day time too. Just a tip: on many of the CNBs, go into the onscreen menus and switch from DC to ESC - that uses electronic shutter control instead of DC iris control to adjust exposure, and as a result, it opens the iris all the way. Focus with that setting, then toggle it back to DC. Works fine even in bright sunlight

I decided to install a flood light higher up and it corrected the problem at the back door. But on the other two camera at the far corners of the house they still look like doo doo. I noticed when I am standing in front of those camera I have the red eye effect and all and all it's just plain not clear. The photo of me carring the ladder is that CNB you guys suggested. The other ones came with a kit.I want to install a bullet camera at each end of the house with no IR. I don't need IR now because the whole back yard is lite up.
-
I will try that tonight and see if their is any difference. To me I feel I will still need to change the cameras.

Here is two shots of the side of the house but I am not installing flood light on either side. Any suggestions on camera would really help me. I also want to go with bullet camera on the side too. Thanks, Mike

This is the problem I am having in the front and side of the house. The picture of the front door is also with one of the CBN camera. the one of the side view of the car close up is with a higher end camera but like I said it still not that clear when I am standing beside the car. I also want to install bullet camera there with no IR. I will be installing flood lights at the font of the house also. The sides of the house I am open to suggestions. The DVR is not the problem here. It is the cameras. I am also replacing the PS and lines with better ones. They should arrive either today or tomorrow. I feel once I install the flood light in front of the house it will solve my problem with the CNB camera but the rest will still not look clear to where I can ID the face of someone.

I have the A-BR18B4-E 8 CHANNELS SURVEILLANCE DIY BUNDLE KIT H.264 video compression and added two more of these > A-E600HL 650 TV Line HI-RES Outdoor Waterproof Color CCD Camera and two of these > Cnb-Vcm-24Vf Vandal Dome Camera . I have tried different cables and for some reason the video is no where as clear as some of the posted ones. On the CNB camera I have adjusted the focus and zoom.In the daytime I have kind of a grain picture and night time same thing. I have changed the lighting and still no glory. I have this hooked up to a HI-DEF tv but this system doesn't support HDIM. Even when view on my pooter the same problem. I feel it is the DVR because with that many camera I can't believe all of them would be the problem. How can I prove which one it is.
-
Sean, sounds like good advice. I will try what you suggested this weekend. All the settings you quoted me are in this DVR unit.

I can understand a company spending 8 grand on a system, but I don't think the average homeowner spends 8 grand on the home owner system. I have been doing HVAC work for the last 38 years. I have been into thousands of homes and I don't recall seeing any of those 8 thousand units. So please don't insult me like that. I came in here for help, not be knocked on my a$$. You did. I just installed a system for a client...4 cameras, 1 DVR and a monitor. Total was almost $8k. We/I occasionally get lucky with the cheap-o systems, but CCTV is one of those things where "you get what you pay for". And, for what you paid, those pics are great. Cue: Rory

Here is an example of one of the CBN camera in the font of the house. Look at the top of the pineapple closest to the camera. The lines are clear and crisp. Now look at the porch rails. Both sides of the rails are wavy but if you notice the post going up and down are clean. The CBN in the back yard also shows this . This is what I don't understand. As a result of this when I am standing on the front porch the picture doesn't look right. I know you guys said said I brought a cheap system but when I replaced the camera, PS and cable I figured I would be getting a clearer image.
-
I brought a different PS for the CBN camera's. At the camera I have 12.19 dc volts. Also I didn't use the wire kit that came with the kit. I ordered three sets from Amazon. Like I said before I ran a coaxial cable and cked the power. All was fin have you used the lead kits that came with the system ???? also are you running the CNBs of the power supplies that came with the KIT.
-
Hi guys and thanks for the suggestions. I did run a coaxial to one of the CBN cameras to see if that cleared it up. It didn't help. I had a friend of mine look at the TV while I was out side trying to focus it. We used cell phones to yak at each other, I also was using my Ipad. We focused it to the best image we could get. I contacted the company and they suggested making a few adjustments on their side which I really saw no difference.Right now at night time the video isn't to bad. The day time video really sucks to me. I am looking at other DVR's. I hope that will make a difference. I feel all the cameras can't be bad so to me it only points at the DVR. On the CBN cameras I have tried different zoom and focus. The one shot on the front porch to me should be a lot clearer along with the shot of the back door and the smoker. Maybe I am expecting to much.

This morning I woke up to the DVR beeping and 4 cameras were down...lol. The transformer was only putting out 9 volts instead of 12 volts. I emailed the company about a replacement one. In the mean time I am thinking about shopping around for something that is a tad bit more heavy duty. This is the second problem I have had so for in less than 30 days. Now I am wonder if this is something I am in store for.

The one by the Spa was done with the High Res Camera. The other two were done with the CNB camera. To me all three aren't that clear.

How many camera's do you have installed on your property

Let me ask you guys something, do any of you have a camera that can view 100 to 150 ft and be able to see a clear image. My daughter parks he car on the street in front of our house. It has been broken into twice and hit once in the past couple of years. The camera's I have now can see a person at her car but ya can't make out their face. -
Here in Va it is the same way, you can own as many guns as ya want. I guess the way I look at someone breaking in my house is they are there for one or two reasons. Either to steal from me or shoot me. I have no intentions on asking them which one they are here for..lol. Shoot first, ask questions later.

It goes to show you what is wrong with our system. Your honor, I don't know how he ended up with all dem holes. My gun musta misfired and he just kept falling on it. Judges question " why did he have 15 holes in his body" ... I guess he kept reloading it too.In all fairness, the home owner will always be the victim.
