Hi, we have two zmodo DVRs (static IP) and one is linked via PowerLine (10/100) extenders so I expected it might be slow. But on testing, it is close to same speeds as the direct connected (Cat5e) DVR some ten feet from where I sit. All of the LAN is 10/100/1000, but the DVRs are 10/100.
That common speed for bo5th is 0.6mps !! I hooked up a friend's Samsung DVR and it is a little better at 0.8mbps. That is crazy and obviously a function of the DVR firmware. I have tried three different LAN speed test software and all are within a few kbps of each other.
So, is there something I can set within the DVR firmware to optimize network speeds? The speed is not a problem viewing the live video feed, but in playback, during the jump from one saved-file (every thirty minutes of recording) to the next, they are skipping over 10 to 15 seconds of data. This happens with the powerline and the Cat5e connections.
Using NVMs5 viewing software. If there is better free software please let me know.
