  1. You were exactly right Soundy ISP hadn't reserved IP yet. DAMN ISP. Thanks for everyones knowledge
  2. When I leave my router set to DHCP it assigns it totally different numbers than what they gave me. I would assume they should be the same as what they gave me but thats not the case. When I enter the numbers into the static ip settings and save I lose internet access. I think my ISP is giving me the wrong numbers or something.
  3. I have done my setup on my router and when I try to do a port forward check it comes back and says not reachable. Do I have to have the static ip set in router to do port forwarding? Also I am waiting on the ISP to provide the DG, SM, and DNS #'s. Been struggling with this for awhile now. I can view everything on site ok, but no luck off site. SO i am sure it has to do with the port forwarding. I am pretty sure I will need info from ISP before I can complete this job but I fig'd Id ask. THANKS in advance.

    PLEASE HELP

I doublechecked port forwarding and disabeled router firewall and still no luck. On the port 80 reponse, does it not matter what ports i use as long as i keep the dvr and router on same number? And it appears that the ISP gave me the wrong Static because i searched my Static through whatsmyip.com and it gave me a different number than what they gave me. I tried the new static and still no luck, may try the port changes tomorrow morning. I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP GUYS.

    PLEASE HELP

I have installed a DVR and I am having trouble viewing offsite. I can view the dvr on the LAN but not remotely. I am pretty sure it is the router settings that are throwing me off. I hace a Linksys E2500 router that my DVR is connected to. I have forwarded the 2 port that the dvvr asks for. Is there any additional settings required to this router. Also I have a static ip that i am using for offsite viewing. Do I need to setup a dhcp reservation for the dvr ? Please help, I know Im close but cant quite get it......
  6. I have setup a dvr for remote viewing. It is in a business that i have got a static Ip for. I have a linksys e2500 router that my dvr is connected to. I have forwarded the correct ports and have the ip addresses set correct im pretty sure. I can view the dvr on my laptop on the LAN but cannot view it offsite. I entered the static address offsite on the Remote viewer software and when i try connecting i just get white screens for cams. Any advice greatly appreciated.
