SRY cannot get the parameters to line up for ease of use....looks great in preview but holy crap what a mess once posted. wiring distance while achieving desired power at end use. This is a relatively large PDF in a zipped file of over 9 megs. Original size is over 22 megs. Although specifically for the 3120 the settings used will be the same since the biggest difference is of course the CCD in the 36x dome. Too big to post or email so I thought I would use the old Rapidshare standby in order to assist your needs. The file will be deleted in a week's time. https://rapidshare.com/files/1017992922/GVI_Manual.zip

Panasonic WV-CW864 PTZ and WV-Cu350
pcuser replied to clardy's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Using a PC to gain PTZ control short term you could buy a relatively cheap RS232 to RS485 adapter, install PTZ Controller v 2.3 or later which has Panasonic v1 (which is the one you NEED) and v2 protocol, tweak the software and then set the 8 pin panel back to Pelco P and simply keep the standard DVR as a controller when it is all said and done. The 8 pin panel (located beneath the plastic "tape" seal under the housing "shroud" uses #8 in the ON position for Panasonic protocol..merely do what you need to do then set #8 to the OFF position and set #6 to ON for Pelco P. You can tweak the baud rate using the OSD while interfacing the camera in the Panasonic protocol. I am new at this so I hope this helps..if not I apologize in advance. -
I use ASee as an app to connect to my DVR, video streams and am able to remote PTZ all cameras as well in my Motorola Droid Bionic. You need the DVR ip address, the port it is signaling on, the device name you tagged the DVR with, then user name and pass. Get info by going to the DVR directly in the settings and inputting the data into the ap you are using....unless I completely misunderstood your opportunity in need of a fix.

It seems that the panansonic ptzs I collected are wv-cs850..which incredibly uses 240 volts to operate. I can only imagine that these came from some European firm who happened to set up shop in the US and either upgraded and tossed these out to auction or went out of business. I am miffed as to how this voltage works in our residential power arrangements and what kind of wattage/amperage I should be looking at before I spend money on something I may not need if these things end up being trash.

Makes sense if I can get the three I have to work but kind of defeats the "ease" of smart phone access to all cams on one ptz link..might have to look into that I guess in the end

pdf of power board ooops no pdfs allowed

I have soldered 12vdc leads to the out port from the power board to the com board and also managed to rig a usb lead to take advantage of the 5vdc lead to finish off the port wires. IT FRICKIN worked...cam went into set up mode and transitioned. I am now going to attempt to track down the correct rs 485 leads and the correct video as the ones I thought were the ones I need simply are not...at least at this time. The difficulty lays in the fact that the schematic shows 15 leads out of CN1 and 14 out of CN2 but there are only 13 out of CN1 and 12 out of CN2.... The other issue is going to be insurmaountable no matter what I may be able to accomplish and that is that I believe the video out may be PAL and lacking the option for NTSC..if there are any suggestions as to this debacle I am all ears. I have really never experienced a wiring schematic or anything of a technical electrical issue since high school and back then 8 tracks were just coming out for homes and cars......so this is indeed a quick learning pace for me at my age. Thanks for all the suggestions though.

In case there is anyone who truly wants to assist in the challenge to remedy the obstacle please look at the schematics and pics hopefully the images load

Panasonic WV-CS854 Pinout help!
pcuser replied to sicon99's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I happened to stumble upon the factory issued REPAIR manual for this monster. I also purchased three of these "non-working" cams thru Ebay but my soldering skills are not unlike the thought of a polar bear performing Swan Lake. The PDF is 2.33 megs and as I am new and basically way too lazy to read thru the rules so I am unsure whether it is ok to post an outside link or not. I can email the puppy out to anyone interested. In return I am interested in a means to use the connector that interfaces with the section that is supposed to connect to the mount base in order to access the camera's ability. Hope I can help and I also hope I can get some ideas. PC
