    30 feet is enough?

Suddenly, it occurs to me that 300 IR should be used for outdoor surveillance, not for baby care! whether it is possible that one camera that is for outdoor security in reality is used as baby monitor later?

    30 feet is enough?

Ya, go with something small. So, why is there some cameras with 300 feet ir distance? Bigger number stands for more cost. Haven't those designers or manufacturers consider this before?

    30 feet is enough?

100s feet is longer than 10s feet, but does the former one work better than the latter? Our baby is upcoming. We plan to select some useful tools for it. One of my friend recommended me to turn to a baby monitor. Then I just searched on Amazon and noted a fun difference on the IR distance. It varies from 30 feet to 300 feet. So, I wonder, what can we do if our baby located out of 300 feet? Don't you think 30 feet work more suitably than 300 feet? Hope you share your opinions on this parameter.

    Image, not refresh

Camera can be viewed from LAN but not from Internet. This may be a port forwarding issue, I think. Quick check can be made by declaring the camera as your DMZ host and see if that improves the situation. Presume camera is password protected in itself as DMZ host would leave access to camera "open" to all.
  6. Well, I do know that camera from that video (I recognised the interface), but being sold with the brand Apexis instead of Loftek. It must be some chinese OEM camera that anyone can put their brand on. Loftek sentinel-D1 is also being sold as Apexis APM-J901-Z-WS, no idea if they are the original manufacturers but they could be, they are from Shenzhen. http://www.apexis.cc/Products/63.aspx Ya! almost the same. But it is hard to say. Apexis is brand, Loftek as well. http://loftek.us/Product_view.asp?Categoryid=42&id=208
  7. So, how do like those IP camera coming with "15fps or 30fps"?
  8. Actually, we cannot figure out the difference between 15 and 30 fps. As I search, the boundary point we can feel is about 15 fps. And 30 fps is not so high that we can't feel their difference. Ya, Exaggeration is a question. As you know, to what extent do they(IP camera) exaggerate? This is important issue.
  9. Ya, really attractive PTZ IP camera. Hey MindTwist, I got the videos on YouTube. Just search Loftek sentinel-D1. It seems that those are uploaded by Loftek. This is the one of those videos.
  10. Nice job. You almost list all that we are thinking about. I can agree any more on two points,Flexible cabling and Frame rates. I also hate those so many cables placed disorderedly, annoying me too much. Frame rate is so important for it can support frequent videos.
  11. I know this is a old and old topic, but good advices can stimulus improvement. All of us benefit from this, whether you are potential buyer or manufacturers. Like me, I attach more importance to easy setup, So I will choose those IP camera that can be easily set up. If you are a manufacturer, what would you do in terms of this? Perhaps you will invest more to simplify this part. Once this aspect is improved, who will be the beneficiary---Youself. I also believe that most of us are interested in this. So, sincere ideas will be much appreciated.
  12. I hope I can help you a little. If there is still no live video after runing ActiveX,please try to enable the ActiveX options of IE security settings. If it still does not work, please close your anti-virus software and do it again. Hope it can help you.
  13. This is a controversial issue for most of users. I still remember I stumbled upon the real same thing on this. But the most thing thing is that you need to communicate with others. Any privacy need to be protected and respected. But IP camera is used for home security. We must exchange your ideas with others. I believe those will understand why you do so.
  14. This is a practical question for us all. I mean the number of camera for home or other property. I just tell you the quantity of me. Two cameras for me. One is indoor, other outdoor. The most important thing is not your quantity, but your quality and function. If the camera your bought can function, like nightvision, IR, waterproof, etc. Perhaps you consider only two cannot monitor every angles. If I were you, I just equip them for some important areas, not for all.
  15. hey, dube, I just search and found a solution, hope it can help you. If you use IE browser to connect the camera for the first time, maybe there is no image displyed, there will be an ActiveX prompt, please click the prompt and choose Run Add-on. Then refresh the ie interface, and login the camera again, at last you will see live video. I am not sure this answer can help you.
