Why can't I get my Swann DVR h.264 to email me?

Hello, I have a swann h.264 DVR. I've gone throught the manual and set up the email to send me emails at GMAIL. I've tested the email and the DVR will send emails. But, it will not send me emails with photos when motion is detected. I know that motion is detected because the buzzer alarm goes off on the dvr when there is movement. Is GMAIL blocking the messages? Anyone else have the same issue? Thanks Redbug2
