  1. I can see that on your 2.8mm version. Mine are the 4mm version. http://www.lorextechnology.com/downloads/ip-cameras/LND2152/LND2152_Series_Specs_R2_recent.pdf Yours look like the new version as the black plastic housing of the light sensor can be seen. Have you tried it yet? trying it out tomorrow i have 4 of the 4mm domes here and it was weird seeing the leds covered up as they were.
  2. thanks just wanted to confirm my whole inner ring of leds is completely blocked off, not just a part of it.
  3. these arrived today from wrightwood, not sure if these are normal now, but the whole inner row of leds is blocked, these are 8/2013 date code
  4. Yes, both must conform. ONVIF includes provisions for camera motion detection and Hikvision supports at least a subset of ONVIF. Some day, many of these cameras will support ONVIF camera motion detection. My question is the following: Has anyone confirmed that Hikvision has implemented ONVIF camera motion detection in any of these cameras? Best, Christopher i don't believe they have, i do not think anyone has it working with onvif camera motion detection, my nvr (synology) is onvif profile s won't work with hikvision camera side motion detection which is also onvif profile s i believe.
  5. Are these Costco Swann sufficiently ONVIF compliant to record on motion detection with systems like Avigilon? Edit: ... using the Hikvision flash. via PSIA they will work, or so i've been told, ONVIF will NOT work with camera side motion detection
  6. you can flash the costco setup to 3mp. the swann varifocal will work with the hikvision system with no problems. I run my swann varifocals with hikvision firmware.
  7. as mentioned costco sells the varifocal version labelled as swann, can take the same hikvision firmware, i run my varifocal versions at 3mp. don't try to change the lens on the bullet, they are glued in and very difficult to take off
  8. My Hiks have the build date in the serial number. If you go to the SN page, you'll get some variation of this - mine is a vendor SN, not OEM Hikvision, but the Hiks are the same, I believe: KBU320120130607CCRRxxxxxxxxx The first part is the model number, and the bold part is the manufacture date. Look for the 2013! thanks, i have 2 cameras date code 6/20/2013 and 2 that are 7/6/2013 all new styles
  9. actually, i believe the problem you have is the ir filter not engaging, give the camera a light tap and see if it turns that on i believe this is/was a common problem with the hfw2100
  10. something is wrong if this is all you see. possibly defective something
  11. The IR-leds are clearly under software control on these cameras (unlike on some Dahuas), so I'm fairly certain that it would be a minor issue for Hikvision to add a separate IR on/off-option. It is a pity they haven't done so, but perhaps it is possible to ask them to? Anyone have some good contact info? I called them tonight but the tech support person suggested switching to day mode to turn off IR, but of course, that is not a viable solution. The person on the phone suggested sending an email to techsupport@hikvisionusa.com to inquire about any possible firmware updates, so that is what I have done. I don't know if that e-mail will be forwarded to the other countries support or not. Maybe if enough people e-mail them, they might add the feature. It's kind of surprising they left it out. I'm also surprised more people on this forum aren't wondering about this because it is so much nicer to have separate ir illuminators for cameras. For the people who are using the built in IR, aren't you getting a bunch of false events from insects flying around the cameras? problem is that with these "budget" ip cams, they designed everything with a certain amount of features and left a lot out for more advanced and expensive cameras. I mean i hope they would be willing to add that feature to this budget series, but chances are slim.
  12. I think the secret code word is "please", LOL. Just ask them, sales@wrightwoodsurveilance.com. sales@wrightwoodsurveillance.com is the right address, you left out a L in your email!
  13. I think the secret code word is "please", LOL. Just ask them, sales@wrightwoodsurveilance.com. thx, worth a shot, still debating if i need 2.8mm, vs the 4mm i have by running 3mp, i think my viewing angle might be wide enough, but i am trying to run one indoors for very broad viewing coverage.
  14. whats the secret to getting a dome for $170? coupon code buellwinkle?
  15. you have to see what the sensor is rated for, i've seen a lot of ratings that say hdtv 1080p, but in the end they aren't always megapixel it is a mega pixel camera when it has more then a million pixels for resolution for example, camera that works at 1920x1080 resolution = 2.07 megapixels, give or take a few.
  16. hmm so weird, it seems like i'm one of the only people that ordered the lorex kits and got new domes! 2 separate orders, to 2 separate addresses, both new domes, one had a nvr dated 6/2013, and one 7/2013. no visible build date on my lorex cameras.
  17. Hey, Do you have the same Swann dome camera or do you have one of the Hikvision branded IP cameras? I was able to use the tool last night to enable DHCP for my Hikvision IP bullet but the Swann dome cam doesn't get detected by the tool or any other tool. I finally contacted Swann online (chat) but the guy couldn't help me. He said to email support. I also contacted Costco and though the tech was nice, he wasn't able to help me fix the problem. After an hour and half of back and forth on the phone, he decided to contact the manufacturer. I'm supposed to call back later to get whatever new information he might have obtained from the manufacturer. i have 2 of the swann varifocal bullets, same features as your dome, but in bullet package, sadp worked for me. i also have 8 of the lorex mini bullets, and 4 of the lorex mini domes, no problems at all configuring them with sadp. something funky is happening with the camera if sadp does not detect it. i also previously had 6x swann mini bullets that i was able to detect and configure with sadp.
  18. http://www.hikvision.com/en/download_more.asp?id=1182 use that software to get access to swann camera, i was able to do this without changing my computers ip address.
  19. you need to get a manually setup the swann before plugging it in, by default DHCP is off, you need to turn that on. if the q-see nvr supports onvif, which i believe it should, you should be able to get it to work to some extent. you need poe (power over ethernet) to work the swann cameras, if you hooked it up to your switch, it won't have power, unless it is a poe port.
  20. you paid 15k to install 3 cameras at 2 locations, and you have to rely on a public forum to get things working, i wished i had the money to toss around for a problematic system as yours. there might be a chance that the network at your work is not clearing out some sort of cache, but i'm no network expert. or something to do with the mobile app itself.
  21. i have smoked domes on both my geovision sd200s 2mp ptz domes, had to buy them separate, but they work perfect.
  22. as someone pointed out to me, it is auto iris and ir filter. I believe it is possible to make the swann work with the lorex, have you tried setting it up manually? do know that the swann uses a different password then lorex lorex is something like 000000 while swann is 12345 they claim that their cameras are different, yet they will take the same stock firmware from hikvision, i flashed the same raptor firmware on my lorex cameras and swann cameras, but i have not used those cameras with my nvr after, so i can't comment. they do all run the same protocol though
  23. that is the model number that my newer style domes have.
  24. they have the swann 2 packs still available, i didn't see the lorex cameras last time, i'm not sure if costco would list the same camera from 2 oems at the same time? Will the Swann cameras work in the Lorex NVR or do I have to flash the firmware? wished i still had the swann cameras around to give you a 100% answer, but my 99% answer is that they will work because in the end, everything comes from hikvision. and they are all onvif compatible at the very least plugging swann cameras into Lorex NVR, you will have to manually setup password etc, but that should be about it.
  25. mainly in case people use vga, and their monitor doesn't support the higher resolution.
