Swann 1080p HD NVR IP Bullet Cameras not showing IP address?
rayt replied to keepsafe's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download.asp SADP Software i used that just 2 days ago to set my cameras up the software will allow you to detect the cameras regardless of IP address, and change the ip address to one that you can access. i used this software to setup my swann cameras from costco. -

looking to upgrade from a Logitech Alert system (IP/PoE)
rayt replied to funkadelic's topic in Security Cameras
i have a 6 camera logitech 700e system right now, 4 exterior, 2 interior, all E series slowly upgrading my system, and i chose to replace it with some swann ip cameras costco is carrying, they seem really popular now, no onboard storage though or audio. i have a bunch of dahua hfw2100 and hdw2100 that i decided to not use, since it seems the swanns have more mature and better supported software. -
2 1080P IR Bullets at Costco for 349
rayt replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
ordered myself 6 of these cameras to play around with, i had some dahua cameras that while satisfactory in testing hfw-2100 and hdw-2100, i felt that the lack of support to be really disturbing, its almost as if the product came out and its dead in terms of support. will definitely be interesting to play with the swann cameras, i currently have a logitech alert system that will finally get replaced, and 2 geovision ptzs up, have 3 more geovision cameras to install, then will install 6 swanns for a 11 camera setup. running synology surveillance station right now. -
IR Illuminators Installation, RayTek, where to buy
rayt replied to MR2's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
i bought a bunch of 2nd hand raytecs on the cheap last year, i found that the 30degree angle was useless, i carefully opened one up and removed the optics, i now have a diffuse and wide coverage out of my illuminator. -

Dahua IPC-HFW3200S
rayt replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That pricing would totally kill the sales on the 1.3mp model if that were the case! I sure hope its true though, i'd buy a few of the 2mp ones myself. -

UPS packages stolen - Newbie seeking entrance door camera. .
rayt replied to Hip2u77's topic in Security Cameras
ups guys rarely steal stuff, they get good pay, and their internal departments are very harsh, i once had a package that didn't get delivered, we'll it was delivered, i trust my ups guy, but i never got it, i called ups to complain, and after that my ups guy was pretty unhappy with me for the next few months, required me to sign for every single package that got delivered to me until i got cameras installed. with such a big open area as yours, i wouldn't be surprised if it was some teenagers. -
IPC-HFW2100 questions for those who have one.
rayt replied to martop1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
have dealer send you firmware, it will work. my dealer sent me 6 PAL cameras, but they flashed them with NTSC firmware before shipping. Works perfect. -

power just 4 for the other 4, the nvr can auto detect the ip addresses of the cameras on the network it is connected to. -

i connected qsee to poe switch i have for testing my poe cameras. i loaded up dahua config tool, it detects camera, and allows me do some limited config to the qsee, including flash firmware. i tried to flash firmware, and it appears to start flashing, but in the end, it says transferred failed. This is firmware i got from my distributor for 8x cameras i bought from her. -

also the batch i received from costco, i ordered 2x (4 camera with nvr packages) i randomly opened one camera from each box, and they had 25 ir leds, which might indicate that these are 3.6mm lenses, i have not had the chance to power them up through the q-see nvr yet. i was hoping i could get the web interface on these to work by flashing the dahua firmware to try. -

The whole house is Dry Wall...........Inside and out.
rayt replied to SecurityNub's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
these are the best that i've ever used, a bit more work then the self drilling stuff, but way stronger! my 80" tv is wall mounted with this. only hit 1 stud, the rest is the snap toggles. -
Flashing cameras, Costco, and doom for all retailers?
rayt replied to Kawboy12R's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
gas cap area says unleaded gasoline only. they are well protected. but on the side note, if the firmware is wrong for the camera, and fails a crc check some other check, it shouldn't take it, there is a good chance that q-see. considering that q-see does customize the firmware ever so slightly, theres a good chance it will just say invalid firmware, but no way to tell until someone gives it a try. i believe currently q-see cameras will only work with the q-see nvr, and nothing else. -
i have a bunch of raytec illuminators, they all draw 20w+ each! got them used, but wow do they toss out a lot of IR.
