  1. I have run into this on 2 PTZ's out of 40 I am using, they all use smoked domes on the housings. These are both Cyberdome ll cameras which we are now changing out to the Legend PTZ's. They have been running continuously 6 to 8 years and are both inside cameras. The ones I have outside are not having any issues at this time although it would be nice if I could shut off the auto white balance intirely and have them never revert to BW because of light issues. This gets frustrating in winter where steam mixed with outside lighting refects on the camera and has it changing rapidly from BW to colour as well as making the iris work overtime. I guess the best advice is to go with the link Tom posted to make sure your smoked domes match your PTZ cameras. Cheers;
  2. I am having an issue with several older Cyberdome ll cameras I have on my system. They will work fine on the bench having good colour etc. however when I put them in the field and put a smoked dome cover on them they revert to BW video. I have changed the white balance setting and iris iniatialization settings in the cameras to no avail. Does anyone know if in fact the white balance will tire after prolonged useage and if it does is there anything I can do to have it not look at this setting. I have also tried auto, manual, atw, for the white balance and different settings for the iris. Thanx ahead of time for any replies. Cheers; JimNorth
  3. Thanks for the info Tom I appreciate it. The cameras have been online now for approx 6 years uses the smoked dome without issue however everything gets tired after awhile. I had a clear dome and swapped it out and it did in fact cure the issue. I guess my next problem will be when that circuit fails a little further and I'll get BW even with clear domes. Thanks again Tom
  4. The "home" position for the Cyberdome is set in the cameras itself not in the software controlling it. Having said that you need a KTD-405 controller keypad to talk directly to the camera. On this controller you would need to get into the camera using 951 for a code then running through the setup of the camera. (you would also need to know what your cameras address is - set on side in binary code) You would need to set a Preset of 00 for home position then auto home after however many minutes you want to wait for it. Runs from 0 to 59.
