as far as I can remember, when I looked at the cards, there were no stickers or any GV logos on the chipsets...they actually looked like blank cards.
-
that is very very informative...thus said, we can conclude that Geovision cannot actually do anything legally to a dealer selling the copy Geo cards with generic software....
-
Apparently there is a generic software out called Neteyes or something which is compatible with GV Software..
-
well, if your client is using Geovision fake cards, he cannot use the GV software. Can geovision take action against your client for using the fake cards? Even though he has no software with it?
-
Ok, I see loads of Geovision copy cards on the market...what is their copyright? Their DVR cards with GV logo on chipset? Their DVR cards with no GV logo on chipset? Their latest version software? Their old version software? Is the 'GV' in the model name copyrighted? Is the drivers copyrighted? If Geovision has to find anyone selling copy Geovision cards, how can they take legal action? On what grounds?
-
do you have netvision's website? ILLUDER.com are releasing a new range of cards on the next Security Exhibition in South Africa. 21st June....visit the site then..
-
what do you mean 'net vision'? Never heard of them, do you have a website? I guarantee you that my DVR card is the best. The ILLUDER.com range. I've had Geo and Kodicom next to it and mine really kicked @55. Also it was reviews in 2 magazines which we came out trumps. hehe.. Just that many still like the GV..because they've built their name over the years. BUT I hear they're in trouble..anyone care to elaborate?

you're confusing the heck out of me there, bud! I have a client who insists he don't want windows, upon the advice of his IT Consultant, thus he wants his DVR on Linux....He also insists on Geovision because his buddy at the golf course told him his Geovision DVR system is simply the best. So how do I handle a client like this?? Anyone can help? I simply need Geovision on Linux...
-
anyone else knows or have? Can you point me towards the right direction?
-
Hi Rory, Nope, but being the largest DVR brand in the world, and having their own inhouse software R&D, it is unthinkable for them not to be compatible with Linux.
-
Hello, Where can I download Geovision Linux Drivers? I need for all models.

Which DVR Card for OEM

the main problem is that if i use the sdk, we will need to continue upgrading it as then the software will be our proprietary. Although I would not like to do that, I would if I need to. Alternatively, I should try the Digi-Flower and simply change the logo and keep changing it whenever they bring out the newer software versions. I will need to contact Digi-Flower for permission on that. As for Comart and Chance-I, do you have their websites? Can you assist me to get the software modified after I get permission? -

So first question is where are you located? >>South Africa, but I do not wish to do business with the local Geovision distributor. Are you a CCTV/DVR Reseller/Dealer? >>CCTV wholesaler, we sell to other dealers. We currently have our own Camera range, and need a good DVR card to brand as ours, with good support from the factory and cards which will not fall over under pressure and time. -

Whom do I contact to purchase OEM Geo cards? Whom do I contact to have OEM Geo software? Whom do I contact to have the software modified to my brand? How will my pricing be compared to the original Geovision pricing? -

the problems with GEO is that 1- firstly the cards are very expensive, 2- They are already represented in my country 3- They will not OEM the product 4- i doubt very much they will like me taking their products and sticking my logo on it, permission will not be granted 5- Everyone is selling GEO, i will need a card like anykeeper, digital flower etc who are smaller companies and will be willing to OEM for me 6- I believe some cards on the market use GEO technology, but i do not know the legal implications on it. Is the software copyrighted or is the card copyrighted, 7-and are those cards legal to sell with other software?
