  1. Thank you. I've posted a couple in various places, the only problem is, is that unless it's something really drastic or out of the ordinary, it just gets lost in the mix. Thanks, Joe

Local TV News Impressed with GeoVision System

The face shot was cropped and zoomed a little bit. I wanted to get rid of any distractions so the viewer would focus on the thief. Thanks

Local TV News Impressed with GeoVision System

  4. Oftentimes, I get video of cars getting broken into, but the victim, doesn't have the right kind of insurance so they don't file a police report. The police have informed me that the victim needs to file the report, or they have no crime to investigate. How can I get the perps into the public eye?
  5. We have had a rash of robberies over the past 5 weeks and got some great video. Local TV news station KMBC TV 9 in Kansas City, got the video from the detective handling the case and loved the quality of the video. It was from a GV1480 card recording at 720X480 de-interlace GeoMPEG4. They wanted to interview me about the system but my interview got bumped by a triple shooting. Oh Well

Where can we post CCTV videos?

Like many others, we have compiled quite a few CCTV clips from our systems. There are some I would like to post somewhere. Where would you guys recommend posting intersesting event clips?

    Ever seen video like this?

I got lucky with this one. It turns out that the camera housing wasn't screwed on completely-thus allowing the IR reflection to hinder camera performance and cause all sorts of problems at night. IR on - IR off, IR on IR off, wasted huge amounts of disk space because each time the image changed, it was being viewed as motion by the DVR. I'm just glad that's all it was.

New hard drive and Geovision system now all messed up!

There are so many times that even we encounter systems Geovision Systems that need updating, finbe tuning, drives changed, etc. Often times one may end up with a conflict simply after running Windows Update or updating other drivers. After much trial and error, I feel it is sometimes better to pull the geovision card, reformat the hard drive(s) reinstall the GV Card, driver and software and usually your problems are solved. Sometimes this is not a viable option, especially if there is evidentiary data on the system that needs to be recovered, in that case contact the good people at Geovision or your dealer for support.

    Ever seen video like this?

We just installed a Geovision 1480 system and 3 of the cameras were KT&C day/night bullets. Model KPC-N600H2W, 520 TVL. By day all these cameras are perfect with beautiful pictures - even better than the Bosch cameras at the same installation, BUT, when the lights are off, one of the cameras gives me a picture similar to this, but even worse. The infrareds keep cycling on and off all night, causing huge amounts of hard drive space to be wasted. I have not been able to get back to the installation yet, probably will tomorrow, but I have a theory. Our particular camera housings screw on and off to give you access to focus, etc. If the body is not screwed on fully giving a good seal between the glass and the infrareds, you will get a refelection, noise, and poor nightime results. This is possibly a simple fix, other than this, are you sure that you haven't accidentally damaged any of the wires in the housing.
